Curse ideas, anyone?
Hi, I go by Ravin_Raven (or Raven Moonspark) on Wattpad! And I have two stories that I'm writing that involve curses as the central plot lines. Here's a list of curses I know of off the top of my head, but I am hoping you can help me with making more than these ones! So, if you can please help me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Cursed to: wear an object all the time and never take it off
To be turned to stone
To be corrupted by your own magic
Be turned into something inanimate
Be turned into an animal or beast
Trapped inside something (like a mirror or painting or locket)
Turned into an element (like being turned into some kind of essence, look up the Augur of Dunlain in Skyrim)
Unable to touch someone for fear of killing them
Unable to love because your love would kill either you or them
Turned into a demon
Possessed by a demon through a curse
Trapped someplace due to a curse (like can't leave a forest because of the curse, or like the guy in Pirates of the Caribbean who can't leave sea water)
Unable to use one of your senses
Can't talk (like Ariel in the Little Mermaid)
Your powers now hurt you when you use them, or someone you love
Your power is corrosive, and you're unable to use it without pain, but not using it hurts worse
Chronic pain curse
Unable to be in love because of a curse, like being cursed to not fall in love or keep your love
Cursed to never die
Cursed to die once you're found happiness
Cursed to die once you fall in love
Bad luck curse
Turned to ice curse
Snow and ice curse, like The White Witch in The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
And finally, cursed to do something if someone tells you to
Now those are a lot of curses, but I have had a bit to think about this. Also, wanted to make sure there was a list on here for future writers to stumble on. I love the trope of curses and I am currently working on "The Cursed Ones" and a draft (as of right now) "Cursed" on Wattpad. Again, I am Ravin_Raven or Raven Moonspark on there. So, check me out! Also, check out RavenSky Writing Prompts on FB! It's a group. Anyways. I hope this helped!
Recently, I've been trying to come up with good ideas for a dark, like, super dark fantasy story for Wattpad. So, I started brainstorming for "cursed" which is a bit of a mix between a few tropes.
The whole fates-worse-than-death trope, which I love, cursed lovers, which I love, and twisted storytelling, which I also love.
But I'm running into a pickle here. Because while I've listed a bunch of curses on my alternate Tumblr page, I am struggling with GOOD AND TWISTED fates that are worse than death. All the lists I find have stupid and silly stuff on it. But I want something mega dark. Obviously, this is a fantasy setting, so anything goes.
Here, I will list some dark fates that fit in a fantasy setting. If you have any you'd like to add, feel free to comment! The darker, the better, just not too twisted! (You know what I mean....?)
Being corrupted by your own magic, and said magic is going to one day either kill you or someone you love.
Being turned into a beast or monster of some kind that cannot speak, as you slowly lose your humanity
Being turned to stone, but the process is slow and agony, and you're awake even in the stone stage, so you'd end up going insane
Growing up separated from everyone, living in a box room without windows, and being t0tured
Melting into an amalgamation beast, turned into something so horrific while you're aware of every single thing happening to you
Losing your control over your body, as someone essentially makes you their puppet, forcing you to harm someone you love
Having to isolate yourself for fear of your powers or magic harming those you love
Losing your humanity to a monster's curse, like turning into a wolf and losing yourself and all that you are because that beast is taking control over you.
Having to watch as your loved ones are hurt and there's absolutely nothing you can do
Being trapped, and your loved one is forced to keep your prison with them at all times. (Like say, you're trapped inside a locket and your lover has to wear that locket all the time now)
Chronic pain curse
Okay those are what I could come up with for fates worse than death. I hope you can be helped when you have the dark urge to write this trope, by this list here. So, if you enjoyed, please check me out, I'm Ravin_Raven or Raven Moonspark on Wattpad, and .... yeah! Thanks!

Winter 1977 | Dark Fates | Severus + Amycus
It was the last Hogsmeade weekend before Christmas break as Severus Snape strode through the castle with a small smile on his face. There was a lightness in his step and a glow to his cheeks that was rarely seen, and not just because his mid-term exams had gone quite well (but he was surely chuffed about that too).
Although he’d taken the time to get to know most of the Slytherins in his year after he gave up on getting Lily to forgive him, he still wasn’t invited out much. That was why he was particularly excited as he stopped and waited just inside the entrance hall for Amycus Carrow, who had agreed to accompany him for a walk and a drink, and perhaps a chat. Severus pulled his heavy cloak tighter around his body, glancing out at the light snowfall just beyond the doors.

Whats the darkest urban fantasy/dark high fantasy story idea you can come up with?
Personally, I am looking for something really dark and twisted in this vein to try and make a truly twisted story out of.
I think that maybe if I could write some down here, then maybe you could see what kinds of ideas I have, and maybe we could figure something out? I dunno. I'm just hoping that someone helps me with ideas for this.
which idea is best?
a fae girl who is enslaved by demons
a selkie whose sealskin is taken by a cruel fisherman
a winged girl whose wings are badly injured by villain
a girl who's trapped in a mirror realm and has to watch her sister's torture
group of mythical beings who must try to save their friend whos trapped by baddy
an apocalypse where the cause is supernatural
cursed by villain (help w/ideas for curse?)
blood-starved and alone vampire in captivity
werewolf or werebeast trapped in beast form, hurting their family
exiled mage who must make dark choices for her survival
