did you ever read Ms. Marvel when Karla was the main star? It seems like something a Thunderbolts fan would've read but you never know. Any interest in it?
I did in fact read it! I was hoping the whole “mommy issues” thing would get built into something more, but it seemed to have been made out of whole cloth to tie in with the babies taking over her brain, which in and of itself was weird?
I mean, Karla isn’t exactly maternal, and begging doesn’t usually work with her. But I suppose if they can conjure a meteor out of nothing and send it hurtling towards New York, nothing’s impossible.
(It was a play to try and threaten Osborn. They severely miscalculated Karla’s reaction. It was cute.)
Also, Deadpool made an appearance, which I suppose is worth mentioning if only for these two scenes:
(How is that even possible in the Marvel universe?)
I just liked this one.
Ultimately it comes down to a series of brawls with the real Ms. Marvel, and Karla suddenly deciding that she’s willing to be offended by the idea that someone can take away the title from her (even though she wasn’t all that thrilled when Osborn foisted it on her).
But yes! It even got me interested enough to read the rest of volume 2 of Ms. Marvel. Carol Danvers is pretty hardcore and all, but she tends to activate my inferiority complex. I much prefer reading about Moonstone, if that makes any sense.
"Meteorite was a role I thought I needed to play."
I like to think that at this point in their professional relationship, Karla has just gotten fond of fucking with Norman's head.
