In the no war au of TFHD the plot revolves around Nightbeat, Prowl, and Swindle and ties in together with a whole convoluted plot but something i’ve been thinking about changing is that Prowl doesn’t go back to like. Civil service work after that little sliver of what would have been the beginning of the war. He has the experience and he was one of if not The best they had, but be saw people get so ugly so fast in such a short time span and it made him realize how he was so close to being just like them. I had him kinda stay in the same position as he was pre-war (part investigative part active street service) but it doesn’t feel right anymore.
Instead i was thinking about him becoming an instrument repairman (repairmech? Idk) and getting dragged back into the life he kinda had before due to The Circumstances and why an instrument repairman? Detail-oriented work, fine motor functions, wide spread of knowledge (regarding both methods of repair and about the instruments themselves), among other things. In this au there’s also a growing population of a sentient mechanical-organic species (idw2 style) on Cybertron that came with their own customs and such, so that was some new data for Prowl to crunch at with their instruments and methods.
