The Plea Of A Hero - a Legend Of Zelda Fanfic
chapter two: Dark Omen
(A/N: you don't get to see the cover for this one because Tumblr hates me)
-
Link came over for dinner that night at Zelda's request. They chatted quite a bit, but were mostly preoccupied with stuffing their faces-- her grandfather's cooking was amazing.
Bianca sat by the table-- she was a small white cat with large ears and brown stripes around her tail. She was waiting for someone to drop food.
"So... you served the royal family of Hyrule, right?" Link asked, "What was it like?"
Zelda's grandfather had a nostalgic look in his eyes. "I was the teacher for Princess Zelda, but then some things happened and I had to settle down someplace else."
Why was Link asking about this all of a sudden?
"What's down there, anyway?"
"Nothing but monsters."
"But we see people go down there all the time!" He protested. It was unusual for him to be this pushy.
"You're both far too young. Now if you'll excuse me... I must speak with the village elder."
After that, Link went home.
Zelda decided to sneak out and follow her grandfather. The conversation she overheard did nothing to ease her mind after the argument from moments ago.
"The two of them are getting restless. I fear one day soon they may attempt to leave. The seal on... him... is about to break. If either Link or Zelda were to set foot inside the temple of the Sacred Sword... he would surely sense their presence and break free."
"It seems we're out of time, then." She heard the elder respond, "You must speak to Zelda about this when you return home. I will inform Link's caretaker of this matter."
Just then, Zelda got the feeling she was being watched. She turned.
There was Link, peeking out from behind a tree. He gestured, and she followed him to the edge of the village.
The very forbidden edge of the village.
"Zelda, I'm remembering something. I don't know why, but... I get the feeling we should be somewhere else."
"What are you talking about?" Zelda asked.
Link sighed, "This is gonna sound crazy... but I think I'm remembering a past life. Something happened to us, and we ended up here."
"It's not crazy." she responded, "I've been having the weirdest dreams, something about a seal breaking. And that conversation I just heard... Link, I--"
And then the ground swallowed them.
They called it a dark omen
They call it a dark omen when a black cat and crow are sit together. A sign of bad things to come, a curse upon their household, but to General James Ironwood of Atlas, and form Head Master of Beacon’s top rival school, a black cat and unlucky crow did better together than apart.
Watching them sit side by side while he studied case files and she read her books, it was clear to see that they added a much needed comfort to the other’s life.
They call it a dark omen when a black cat and a crow din together. A sign of bad things to come, a curse upon their household, but Winter Schnee, form heiress to the Schnee mining company, a black cat and unlucky crow did better together than apart.
Watching them eat side by side, while debating good food and best places for dishes, it was clear to see that they ate healthier together. He drank less. She ate with more ease. They added a much needed comfort to the other’s life.
They call it a dark omen when a black cat and crow nest together. A sign of bad things to come, a curse upon their household, but to Ruby and Yang, long friend’s of Black and nieces of Crow, a black cat and unlucky crow did better together than apart.
First as roommates than somewhat dating to nearly married but not yet, it was clear that being together was far better for their health than being apart. They added a much needed warmth to the other’s life and with the little ones on the way... Well, for that Weiss has always been the first to jump in and defend.
Weiss is always ready to correct those that would dare imply something was twisted, impure by the thought. “It’s, in fact, a good omen when a Black Cat and a Crow live together. A sign of a change in the winds and happiness to come after such a dark time. It’s really due to a misunderstanding of a translation that created the ill saying.” She smiles knowingly. “But dark omen or not, I think as long as they love each other and make the other happier than sad while being supportive... well, how could such a relationship ever be bad?”
-Mod Skulls.
While this can never bring back those that we have lost, I wrote this in the name of Cleo. We should always strive to be better and understand that some lines shouldn’t be crossed. So will the spark of her passion, beauty, and love live on the world will always be slightly empty without her.
If anyone needs any support, feel free to reach out to ask. Never be ashamed to speak up and do know that their are those willing to help fight with you.
