Dark! Stan AU where Stanley is not going to let his brother go, he can't let him go, he is locked in this cycle of believing that without Ford it is nothing. Stan's love is overwhelming, exhausting and suffocating, an almost parasitic love where the division between one and the other begins to blur.
And it's because Stan is so locked in this cycle of believing that without Ford he is nothing to the point where he begins to suffocate him, obsessive and selfish, tying him to him every time, because he can't allow Ford to abandon him, because it doesn't matter if he's obsessive. It doesn't matter if he's selfish, his own desires are more important right now.
But then it happened, Ford betrayed him, Ford broke the promise they have had for years, claiming that the boat is a silly and unreal idea and Stan feels destroyed, because that's not even about the boat, it's about them always being together. But Ford is so convinced, so eager to run away, so fervent to repeat over and over again that their relationship should never have been, breaking Stan's heart in half.
And the thing here is that Stan is not a rational man, he has never been, he hits first, he asks later, and when he realizes that Ford escapes his hands the only thing he can do is drown in anger, in fervent anger that hides his fear of being abandoned, the violent feeling that hides his own flaws and when he hears the sound of Ford's crying in the distance he looks down and between his bloody hands he only finds metal pieces and oil stains.
Ford does it aside, while he desperately tries to find a fix to the destroyed machine, but it's impossible, the presentation is in just a couple of hours, he can't fix it, he can't do anything, he falls to his knees, tears escape from his eyes, totally destroyed, and although Stan's heart contracts in his chest when he sees his brother cry in that way a sigh of relief escapes his chest when he realizes that Ford can no longer that shitty machine to get away from him. Everything is fine, Ford will cry for a while, Stan will comfort him, they will get in the car, they will return home, they will grope (Stan will grope Ford) for a while and at some point after that, Stan will have time to think about the consequences.
Ah, Jesus, I feel that this is written with a non-existent coherence, don't pay too much attention to it, it's 4 a.m. and instead of sleeping I'm wandering about my Dark! Stan AU because I'm starting to get obsessed with him lol.
