And added bonus: I decided to try farming some world drop pets. While I’m 500 tries on the Dark Whelping and 1600 on the Crimson Whelpling, I’m a whim to try for the Emerald Whelping. Second try I got it! I hope I can get the Dark, Crimson, and Azure to add to the family!

Dark Whelpling

Dragonkin battle pet

This item drops from Scalding Whelps in the Badlands and from Searing Whelps in the Dustwallow Marsh. 

I spent quite a bit of time farming for this little guy in the badlands, and I never got him. However I tried farming in the wetlands for the first time, and I got him on the 3rd try🤦‍♀️ so if you're having a hard time finding him, just try some new farming locations!

After a busy day of farming with friends, I was lucky enough to get myself the Sprite Darter Hatchling, Crimson Whelpling and the Dark Whelpling!

Pet Collection: The Wetland Whelps

I haven't been seriously farming for pets during Pilgrim's Bounty week but today I revisited Wetlands again to kill Ebon Whelps. Guess what? I immediately got the Crimson Whelpling off a Dragonmaw grunt (they ganged up on me as I was passing by, I was defending myself! XD) and I was like "yay", and went on to farm Ebon Whelps while Arena-ing at the same time. Not even an hour later, Dark Whelpling dropped. This is either the luckiest I've been (I've been farming Ebon Whelps on and off for a few weeks while doing Archaeology + PvP with no success) or very nearly that, since I've not had any rare drops drop one after another within one hour.

Naturally, I tried to name them Korialstrasz and Neltharion, after my favourite red dragon and the uncorrupted Earth Warder, but those names are reserved, so now they're Korialstrazs and Neltharoin XD

1647? Good god. I’ve had pretty terrible luck farming pets, but that is just awful.

Ugh, I know. And the worst part is, that's not even an accurate number. There's at least 500 more loots from before I had the Bunny Hunter addon. And at least a thousand of those 2000+ total loots were before Cataclysm when the Dark Whelps were spread out really far in Badlands.

Now there's a spot in Wetlands where half a dozen or so Dark Whelps respawn every few seconds, so you just run back and forth slaughtering them. I made 700 more loots last night trying to get a second Dark Whelpling for myself and a Tiny Crimson Whelpling.
