da; a rant

lately i’ve realized something about dark academia. as a consept it’s lovely, the whole aesthetic is so perfect to me and it has given me the inspiration to study.

the whole purpose of da is to satirize the elite (i read this kind of a sentence in somewhere, all credit to you whoever wrote it). i think most of the people who practise the aesthetic don’t quite get this. da isn’t about being above the society (like for example henry from ths thinks), but to make the society similar for everyone, to fight for equality. because if you’re well read shouldn’t you know that being some sort of ’elite’ doesn’t make you a better person than someone else, someone poor for example?

for me da gives inspiration to study my ass of in various subjects in order to be able to change the society from the inside. that requires some sort of credibility, as sad as it is.

the society’s take on credibility is someone who’s male, white and rich. like it’s always been. of those things i am only white. i’m not male or rich or skinny, and sometimes it makes me feel like i’m not enough for society. that’s why we need different kinds of people in everything to create some equality. because if there’s only one kinds of people in power, how can you expect everybody to be equal in the society? human is a self-conscious animal, that’s my take on the subject.

there are big problems in the da culture (in the society too lol), but if the people would use some of their brain and show some decent human kindness most problems could be solved.
