HEY what's the difference between a neural network and your AI-teaching interests, if there is one? or is it just different names for the same idea? :o (feel free to babble a bit if you want b/c honestly i love it when you go off on little rambles about AI it's super interesting, even if it's a little hard to understand)
My personal interest is the entire field of machine learning, which neural networks are a part of! Granted, neural networks, while smart, aren’t quite AI proper. They’re just statistics running wild, finding patterns in whatever source they’re given and trying to reproduce it in their own ways. So neural networks aren’t really thinking for themselves exactly, they’re just able to see patterns in absolutely everything and reproduce according to the best of their ability.
That said there are some neat uses, like those neural networks that learn certain artstyles and then can apply them to other photos. I would like to play with a neural network myself and use it for anything but I A) don’t feel like booting into ubuntu and B) can’t focus!! But I’d like to train one to be able to play some sort of (fairly simple, puzzle-based) game, since that seems right up neural networking’s alley.
