It was the big day. The first concert of your tour was to be started by dawn, which left approximately ten minutes for you all to reach the arena. But here you were, cooped up in the practice room and drowning in your sorrows and insecurities. It wasn't the first time this had happened, hell, it happened every time before a concert. Maybe it was because your family genes failed to offer you a better skin, or maybe it was because how you couldn't even be in peace with the members without some so called fans asking you to stay the fuck away from them. No matter the reason, it would always end up with you enclosed in your personal space and possibly ending up with a mental breakdown.

You touched your face to feel the acne that had made home on your forehead. Sighing heavily and feeling the tears brimming in the corner of your eyes, you hug your knees to your chest, hiding away from the world for a moment. While you sulked pathetically to yourself, you couldn't help but wonder what more insults this tour would earn you. Maybe they will throw tomatoes on me this time, you thought, or maybe they will bully me until I went back into hiding backstage. They always found a way to hate on you, since you were so close to the members. Especially Yeonjun.

You and Yeonjun were dating. You and him never really meant to suggest the idea publicly that you guys were oh so in love, but some of your innocent moments of being touchy with each other on camera and some of those knowing gazes you both shared during interviews had confirmed to the fans that there was definitely something going on between the two of you. Your pearl-weighed tears rolled down your cheeks without your consent and you didn't even bother wiping them off, leaning your forehead on your bent knees, curling into a ball in the corner. "This sucks." You spoke to yourself, your voice breaking as the tears refused to stop. When you had auditioned and gotten in as a trainee at Hybe, you had thought that your life would be picture perfect from now on. Little did you know, fame was not everyone's cup of tea to handle.

"Y/N?" The familiar masculine voice was heard and you suddenly got startled, looking up at the source of the voice. Your eyes settled onto your boyfriend who was standing at the doorway, his brows scrunching in concern as each second passed of you staring at him in shock. "What's wrong?" He asked, closing the door behind him and walking closer to you. When you finally snapped out of your daze, you wiped at your eyes and cheeks to get rid of the tears, giving him a small smile.

"Yeonjun-a." I fake-smiled at him. "Nothing's wrong. There was just something in my eye—"

"Cut the crap." He said as he kneeled in front of you, giving you a scornful look. "Tell me what's wrong." He grabbed your chin, slightly forcing you to look at him while you tried to look like everything was alright. But it must have been obvious that nothing was alright, since your nose got abnormally red whenever you were even close to crying, and Yeonjun knew that very well.

"I'm just getting cold feet, that's all." You chuckled, trying to defuse the tension.

"And that's why you're crying this much that your whole face is looking like a tomato?" He raised a brow, making it obvious that he was not giving in to your bullshit. The next thing you felt were his hands cupping both your cheeks, making your lips pout. "Sweetie, what happened?"

You tried to avoid his gaze, looking at his biceps rather than his face. "I'm feeling stressed... like really stressed." You finally confessed. If there was one thing that could be the secret of your healthy relationship with him, it was communication. You both were never shy to let out your emotions with each other.

"Why, sweetheart?" He asked, nodding his head in acknowledgement and tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear. His understanding nature and your heightened emotions made more tears well up in your eyes and you sniffled and gulped painfully, trying to hold them in.

"Yeonjun, I'm scared." You let out, letting the coil of the painful lump in your throat snap and letting the tears fall down yet again. "I'm— I'm afraid the fans will hate me if I go in front of them."

"Why would they hate you? They're your fans. They love you." He furrowed his brows, his hands leaving your cheeks to your fingers, clutching them tightly.

"But not all of them." You spoke in a broken tone, your chin wobbling with every word as you stared into his eyes. "They hate me for being with you. They hate me for being ugly. They hate me for being friends with the five of you. There are like one out of every twenty people who hate me."

"Who cares what they think—?"

"I care." You whimpered. "I care about my reputation, Yeonjun."

"I know you do. But them talking utter bullshit about you shouldn't bother you. You are a fucking queen, Y/N. And these people won't tell you who you are." He said stiffly, making sure that you were looking at him while he explained your worth to you. "And you? Ugly? You should know better than that, you're honestly the prettiest girl I've ever laid eyes on."

You admitted that his words were making you feel a little bit better. He was right. Those people won't tell you what you are. As long as you were confident in your own skin, no one could make you miserable. It was a small price to pay for fame.

"And let's be honest, they're just jealous." He said, a small playful smirk forming on his face. You couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at his words, wiping your tears and nodding your head with a smile. Seeing you smile, Yeonjun's eyes softened, a smile automatically forming on his own face. "What they should realize is that it's me they should be jealous of, because you're an angel, Y/N. You're too good, even for me, but I'm just selfish enough to keep you to myself."

"You think so?" You sniffled. "Don't you think you're out of my league? I mean, I'm not as good looking as you, and I get a lot of acne, not to forget that I'm always being overdramatic and annoying. Don't you think you deserve better—"

"Deserve better? You are the best I've got." He let out a breathy chuckle, making you shut up real quick. He now rested his hands on your bent knees, leaning closer to your face. "All these things that you said about yourself are the things that makes you you. And maybe you've forgotten but I'm in love with all of you, with your flaws and your plus points. I love you, and I would never wish for you to change. And as for your acne..."

You had finally calmed down at his reassurance, but the last sentence made your heartbeat faster again, anxiety running through your veins. "My acne what?" You asked, your voice hinting panic.

"Can I pop them?"

You rolled your eyes heavily at his response, the pace of your heartbeat going back to normal. "No, Yeonjun. We've talked about this before."

"But I just want to pop them!" He whined like a child, making you want to laugh but you kept it in.

"But you popped a pimple on my thigh last night!" He looked at you in offence. "It's only fair if I do it to you now." He laughed in a mocking devilish manner, inching his fingers closer to your forehead.

"Get off!" You laughed, slapping his hand away. Your laugh only made him want to smile until his cheeks hurt. He had somehow yet again managed to snap you out of your depression zone, and you couldn't have been more grateful for it.

"You're not stressed anymore, right?" He asked, before a mischievous look formed on his face. "Or do I need to get my fingers to work?" He added suggestively.

You gasped, smacking his chest playfully. "Yeonjun!"

"What?!" He laughed. "You know that always works."

Every worry went down the drain as you laughed again, sitting with your boyfriend while he made dirty jokes and found himself so funny. You couldn't help but grab the back of his neck, pulling his face closer to yours, just enough so you could reach his perfect lips. He took the hint himself, leaning in and attaching your lips together, his soft lips meeting your slightly chapped ones.

my rating: one of my favourite dramas I have ever watched AND it has good rewatchability

The basic plot of it is a very shy or anti-oscial girl working in a hair salon. So, the plot sounds simple enough but the writing is done so well for the show (please Park Yeon Sun teach me your ways) that it isn't cliche at all and actually shows how someone who is more introverted and shy becomes more social and outgoing. It also tells multiple different stories of the different people working in the hair salon. It has someone struggling with their weight and being overly positive, someone with trauma from their childhood, someone being trans and discussing the rejection of their family, s it really covers a wide spectrum of people. The writing also makes all the characters really realistic and the actors do a wonderful job of portraying that. So, not all the characters get along and have contradiction personalities that clash but throughout the show every single one of the characters learn and grow as people. So, genuinly its one of the MOST UNDERRATED SHOW AND I NEED MORE PEOPLE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS PLEASE. PLEASE. SOMEONE.WATCH.THIS.
