Ok, while I was brainstorming for Stickronpa I was looking at fanarts and I ended up finding ship art of Dark and King and... I'm not going to lie, it's interesting!
Now this rare pair is stuck in my head and it won't be leaving any time soon! The potential for angst with this pair and the fact that just based on my headcanons and interpretations of the characters I can already imagine an "enemies to lovers" kind of thing makes the shipper in me go crazy!
Plus I'm already thinking about the story before the Stickronpa adventures and how I'm going to characterize Dark after the showdown.
Small spoiler for my version of Dark, but he has arges for destruction. Due to the fact that he was created with the command to destroy Chosen, when he managed to modify the command so that he could not harm Chosen One, but the command still existed, he just changed the target to random.
Dark would have no control over his destructive acts, feeling trapped by his original programming, accepting that this will forever be a part of him.
Cue King being one hell of a therapist partner! King knows what it's like to be destructive, what it's like to feel an uncontrollable rage that makes you blind to the little things in life, he knows what it's like to have anger at hurting others because they don't understand them...
They both also feel alone in the world, they both lost someone they loved, tho for different reasons.
King feels mourning, while Dark feels betrayed.
Dark needs someone who understands him and can help him with his problems. And King is more than qualified to help him, even if he doesn't want to.
