Raymesis and Darkray

finally have basic designs for my au for them. Something a bit more solid.

A bit of explaining for my au below the cut so this doesn't become a huge post XD

Raymesis was ofc created to ward Rayman off. Mr. Dark honestly has no personal ill will toward Rayman. Rayman simply got in his way, and Dark resorted to cloning him to match his skills perfectly. It didn't work ofc, and Raymesis was locked out of the lair when Rayman managed to surpass him. When Dark fled, Raymesis quickly followed, and tracked him down. This ended up making Dark form an attachment to Raymesis. First positive emotion Dark had felt in awhile, even if it's a skewed perspective of "Someone actually came to look for me"

Darkray is the more 'perfect' Raymesis, and made during the events of Legends (So he is technically 100 years younger than Rayman and Raymesis, give or take) to mainly protect Mr. Dark from WHATEVER chaos Rayman and his friends were both dealing with and causing on their own.

Dark made him with some of his OWN abilities in mind, such as Umbrakinesis for traveling through the shadows to catch up with Rayman easier. Again, he's only meant as a ward to Rayman, to keep him far, far away.

By the time he makes Darkray, Mr. Dark has learned if he's a bit nicer to them, they work a bit better. This does create for some demanding creatures however, who lay down what THEY want if they succeed in a task ordered. Which, by the way, they don't talk much of what normal people of the Glade can understand. Mr. Dark can understand them, but it's a bit rough to make out what they're saying for others.

By the time of Mr. Dark's Mild Redemption Arc, he sorta sees them as his weird, freaky kids even if he doesn't really call them that, and they don't call him dad or anything like that. Kind of an unspoken thing. They know what they all are to one another, doesn't really need a word for it other than "family" He does sometimes however call them "the/my boys" but rarely "my boys"

Raymesis and Darkray end up becoming VERY protective of Cannonball. After about 30 times of being told "no you can't chew him up" by Mr. Dark, they finally grasp this is a friend/family, and won't let anything bad happen to him.

They're still naturally aggressive to Rayman. It's in their build, and hard to repress. But they've managed to de-escalate it to minimal jock like behaviors. (Smacking food out of his hands for a laugh, tripping him, ect)

But yeah. By the end of the "Revenge of the Magician" arc of Ales kidnapping Rayman, Dark tries to reform a little bit, and takes his weirdos with him. Keep in mind, this is MY AU, and I'm not by any means saying any of this is 'canon' I'm just creating my own personal coherent timeline for my Rayman AU.

Mr. Dark doesn't want to put Cannonball down because Raymesis and Darkray will eat him or something.

The boys are learning to not eat their younger cousin though. (They don't know exactly WHAT to do with him though-) As @scarlettclownose put it, when they realize that CB is now family, they become his guard dogs practically. You can't even say anything slightly mean to him they'll attack you. I need to make my actual refs for Raymesis and Darkray honestly. I'll put them on the same thing lol
