I hear the wind whistling through the leaves of the trees, and rushing through the blades of grass. I feel the cool breeze skipping off the top of the water of the lake. I could lay here for days, such tranquillity

Thank you!
Thank you to all of the beautiful souls who have helped me reach a milestone today.
I have reached 100 followers!
Only a few months ago, when I was setting up my Tumblr blog, I saw how successful other writers/authors’ posts were and thought, ‘I really hope my blog is as successful as theirs one day’.
I usually don’t do this kind of thing. I am usually the type of person who hides in their shell. I don’t usually express my writing due to being very self conscious if people like what I’m writing. I feel comfortable sharing snippets from my book with the Tumblr community. It is one of the most kind and supportive communities out there. I haven’t ever seen anyone write something negative towards another person. We need more social platforms like this.
If you see any snippets from my WIP - Dark Side of Kind, please feel free to give a like, a reblog or a comment. I really appreciate the feedback and like to know how I’m doing.
Thanks again everyone, stay beautiful <3
The Man
A small snippet from my new book:
It's late on a Saturday night, about 10:30pm. A boy is standing in the lounge room of a small home. The room is mostly dark, the only light shining into the lounge room is coming from the dining room where the boy had just been. He stands there with his hands over his very wet face, bawling his eyes out. He can barely keep his hands on his face, while shaking like a leaf and wiping his hands over his runny nose.
A shadow casts over the boy. He parted his fingers just enough to look through. He saw the silhouette of a person standing in front of him. The person ran to the boy, threw his arms out in front his body, grabbed the boy’s shirt at his chest and scrunched it in his fists. The person pulled the boy very close to their face and for a very quick moment, the boy caught a glimpse that this is the man who is the cause of the trauma. The man clenched his jaw and muttered something through his teeth before he started to pull the boy back and fourth over and over. The boy's head was flailing around like a rag doll, almost like he was lifeless.
The man’s facial expression changed; almost as if a killer would look before he took his next victim, primitive, aggressive, eerie. He suddenly screamed, "Stop crying for fuck sake! Just stop! Why are you always crying? Bloody piece of shit.” As the man was finishing the last word of his sentence, he violently shoved the boy on his chest and let go of his shirt. The boy flung across the room and fell to the floor with such force, the thud could be heard from across the room.
Harrowing screams start to lunge from a woman yelling, "Stop, stop! He's just a child. Please stop! Mark!".
The boy opened his eyes, looked up and saw a flash image of a large hand coming from above heading towards his body. The boy closed his eyes, bracing for impact. The hand made contact with his back, loud like the crack of lightening. The boy continued to lay on his side with his hands over his head completing the foetal position. He is lying there with his eyes scrunched closed while he tried his hardest to outlast being slapped, kicked, punched over and over. I bet he was thinking if this would ever stop.
