UPDATE: I'M BACK FROM BREAK!

While holiday break was fun, I very much missed this blog. I've been working and trying to make stuff for when I come back, and my art focus has shifted some. I'm realizing I really hate doing tiny details lol!

I made a few resolutions too: get better at drawing faces, and focus on trying to go from value based painting to color based!

I've been practicing too!

10+ hours and still so much to render!!! Dust's feathers are going to be such a pain, but so very worth it!

I only get to work on this at work though, so that's unfortunate, but that could change soon enough.

Anyways, I'm glad to be back!!!

I have made SO MUCH progress!!!!

It's coming along way better than I expected, and I am thrilled I'm so close to finishing a piece. I think I may do another pass of lines with that smoother brush I mentioned earlier, but so far, I like it.

When I do that pass, I plan on upping the DPI and doing a bigger canvas. Not 100%, but it's looking likely.

I do have a massive headache coming on, but I wanted to share this before I tapped out.

So, I made a ref sheet of my oc. Their name is Jingle! And I honestly love them.

They're a magical clown that attached themself to Death somehow, and while the two of them don't get along at first, they work well together. Eventually they pine for each other (reluctantly, on both sides), but that's way later on after a lot of story development.

I also have a playlist about them and it's very motown inspired. Lots of fun jingly stuff and playful vibes.

I'm working on some Bar!Siders stuff for Death and Jingle! I Think I'm going to try and do some cell-shading for this one. I think some rim lights too. Don't worry, Death is going to be in this one, and I will make art of the horsemen themselves soon.

I'm just trying to perk myself up from a down is all. Been heavy lately, but it'll get better. I just wish the dang sun would come out lol!

Anyway! This one is going to require an extended canvas to fit Death, and I think I want to redo the lines with a different brush to make them smoother, although, I really do love the texture on them. It's undecided and I might put that up to a vote.

Also, for the Bar!siders AU, I might go for a Jessica and Rodger Rabbit feel for them. It's too funny not to lol!

I made an oc to ship with Death and they're a literal clown.

I have no idea what to name them. They discovered magic is real and made it everyone else's problem. Think bard shenanigans without the horny. They do make Death laugh, though he's loath to admit, so that's a plus (in their book).

They also totally don't bond over the fact that they put up facades to keep people out. One coping with humor and the other with biting sarcasm. Both of them wearing literal masks.

If i ever write a fic I would title it "Tears of a Clown" or something unserious lol

Their ship name is also "FunnyBone" and will be tagged as such.
