DARNA REDESIGNS 01: DARNA

REAL NAME: NARDA CUSTODIO

ENERGY CHARM: STONE OF PURITY

The scared “Stone of Purity” was a prized artifact of the Adarna Warriors from the planet Adarnika. It was one of many powerful power harnessing artifacts in their collection, but this stone was the most sacred in their possession. The Stone of Purity was the token gambit of the planet’s champion, Darna for she possessed However, it was lost to space to Braguda and her army of space bandits over their possession.

Braguda wanted to combine her magic with their artifacts to allow her to control and corrupt them for her plan to reshape Adarnika into her own image.

While the Adarna Warriors’ collection of artifacts was stolen by Braguda and her bandits, The Stone of Purity was lucky to be launched into deep space in hopes of finding a new Darna. What they didn’t know was that it would be on Earth, in the city of Makati.

College student Narda Custodio found the stone while on one of her evening hangouts in the wilderness. It was an average day for the twenty-something, until she saw a blast in the nearby distance.

Heading towards the forest, she saw a glowing pearl. Illuminating such a bright light, she touched it. The next thing Nadra knew, it began to seep into her heart, becoming one. She then saw a vision of a bird-like warrior, telling her she’ll be the first human Darna. This new Darna was told by the vision to protect the innocents from the incoming threats, as the radiated energy will alert Braguda.

Now with flight, laser vision, super-strength, and super-speed, For now, she fights many goons and possessed citizens that Braguda sent over. Narda as the new Darna still has some training to do before she can take on The Bandit Queen head-on

So this was a fun art project for me, my redesigns of Darna and her rogues gallery. I originally posted them to my Instagram and Reddit, but decided to post them here with added lore. I tried to mash up different pieces of different Darna backstories to create a fresh yet familiar take on the characters. I will try to post these designs daily or semi-daily.
