Launch Party #4 - Tampa

A week prior, I was running around NYC to network with music business people at CMJ. Todd and Daron joined me for some quick meetings and general debauchery.  

Then, it was off to Tampa... which was a blast. 

Our goal was to go to Florida and throw a special "demonstration" party for the investors, movers, and shakers. Being from Florida, Daron and his financial bulldoggs generated a lot of investor heat for us.

And you know the Bedloo boys turned the party out... 

The champ, Antonio Tarver was in the house.

  We had a marching band.

We had twirling rainbow belly dancers.

There was a rap chicken. 

We had a crazy juggle master.

We had a robot on a tricycle.

John Martino sang us another Sinatra song.

And we had lovely Bedloo girls to walk you through the product.

People had fun. They understood what we were trying to do. We got a lot of new downloads. It was an overall success and it generated the right conversations with potential investors... also, one very big fish.

When we got the call to fly back to NYC to meet with the crew, we didn't hesitate. Fingers crossed.

Migos use Bedloo in New "Versace" Video

I was working at the new Bedloo office when I got a call from Daron at about 4pm... Daron: “Yo man, come meet me in Calabasas. We’re gonna be in the new "Versace" music video by Migos. ” Me: “Ummm… we’re gonna what?” I was confused.  Daron: “That’s how we roll baby… Just jump in the car and get over here. I’ll explain later.” He laughed and hung up.

I cruised over to an undisclosed location in the hills of Calabasas and took a shuttle to the shoot. The mansion venue was insane. I heard the lady who owned it had some connection with the invention of the aerosol can!? (If anyone can confirm this, please tell me) I never got the full story but I wouldn’t be surprised. Surreal tales of fame and riches are always right around the corner in Los Angeles. The moment I walked through the door, I was blown away by this Atlanta hip hop fashion take-over; complete with bling, champagne bottles, cheetahs, and fashionable millennials sporting long golden locks while wading in swimming pools. The director, Gabriel Hart, "AKA - Video God" set the stage for the new southern rap pharaohs with an abundance of lights & cameras. There were no shortage of shiny headed medusas and they even showcased beautiful Italian-clad models playing lawn chess with stone knights and bishops. Of course, the Migos brought their own 'Dirty South' Georgia swag to the equation. It was all pretty impressive.

Check it out. The scene where Migos uses Bedloo is 1:30 into the video. Takeoff wakes up in a bed full of girls and tries to figure out which Versace shirt to wear. Meanwhile, Cuavo is in the backyard spittin' rhymes with Rapunzel and a leashed jungle cat... Ha! Awesome. =-=-=

We had tons of fun with these guys. AND... the next day they came and recorded a track with Bedloo. That's another post though... soon soon. Follow Migos on Bedloo. Ask them questions... and vote on theirs... That's what it's all about. Crowdsourcing opinion. - Vincent

Help The Don With His Decision

Recently we had the honor to bring John Martino back in front of the camera. You might remember him as "Paulie Gatto" from Mario Puzo's "The Godfather."

John is an old time friend and mentor of Daron Destiny. They met during Daron's formative film years in Daytona Beach after Daron tracked him down at an Ormond Beach meet and greet. Their energy complemented each other and they immediately became friends. Shortly after, Martino became the co-star in Daron's 2007 movie on Warner Brothers Pictures called, "Confessions of a Thug."

Once Bedloo got closer to launching their new iphone voting app, Daron reached out to create a little heat around the decision making process. We had a lot of fun and we're proud of how it turned out.
