the sun hangs low in the sky, sinking slowly into the horizon and casting long shadows off the trees that surround him. it makes the forest seem fuller, larger and darker than it really is. a soft breeze moves through the leaves and brushes over his exposed skin, multiplying the chills he gets every time he steps foot in the woods. he can never shake the feeling of being watched, perhaps because he knows better. in these woods, one can never be certain that they’re alone, and just what could be lurking around the corner. dipper was a man on a mission. while some days he was content to simply wander aimlessly, hoping a clue or a mystery would fall into his lap, today he’d been sent to retrieve some sort of plant from the woods (grey roots, four leaves, small red spines along the stalk) that could only be harvested just after sunset or else it was no good. why, exactly, grunkle ford needed it was a question he’d asked but received no answer to, but he was hoping it would be revealed after the successful mission. assuming he survived, that is. perhaps he was just being paranoid, but he could’ve SWORN he’d heard footsteps of some sort behind the trees. remaining cautious and placing a hand on the journal within his vest, dipper stopped walking and just listened. for a moment. calling out could prove dangerous, but he was prepared. “ -- hello ?? “

IT HAD BEEN two billion years since Bill destroyed his home dimension. He had spent his time H I D I N G from the Time Police, making a PLAN -- the GREATEST PLAN conceived in the Multiverse!

Boy, being LIBERATED sure was EXHILARATING. The time had FINALLY come where he could SHARE his knowledge with the other dimensions. And he already found his first t a r g e t . . .

But, in order to do that, Bill needed to make sure that he had a good CREW. A gang of INTERDIMENSIONAL CREATURES with great POWER that wouldn’t let him down. So, it was time to unleash PHASE ONE of the plan: covert dimension-hopping in order to find said creatures.
