A more detailed profile doodle of Darshil’s Sybal form. The general style he’s drawn in isn’t so detailed as it would make things like comic panels take forever, but I figured it might be fun to draw him a bit more fleshed out to show off some of the more reptilian aspects.

Toa Chaihenga - Darshil

Darshil is a Toa of iron and is the youngest among the team, yet he acts very responsible. However, he tends to be naive and sometime go fight an enemy without thinking twice. He wield a piston blade made of iron and copper.

Finally found time to finish this pic! I've had to lay off drawing in my free-time for a little while due to some health issues, but I was chipping away at this one over the last few weeks. Like a lot of folks I've always really liked Mucha's work, but I was looking at it the other day and thinking about how not that many men are depicted, so I decided to draw one of my SH boys, Darshil, inspired by the style just for funsies.

WIP of the new doll I’m currently working on. And I say “currently” very literally because I’m sculpting his feet right now. lol! I’d been wanting to take a stab at making a doll of one of the Sybal Heim characters, and I decided Darshil would be the most interesting to work on, if not one of the most complex. Making his clothing and accessories is going to be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to it!

Over-Enthusiam

It took me a while to realise that ‘Over-Enthusiam’ is not a complement. You have got to respect the British and their subtle ways of speaking their mind. Because this was my first internship, I got excited at the mere mention of the new project and I would dive into the project ‘Head First’. 

My first internship was at TOAD London and it was everything the first experience in a design studio should have been like. TOAD london is mostly involved in doing digital work for companies and Brands. On the first day itself we were told that  ‘we will be thrown into the deep end’ and so we were. The first week was a bit overwhelming in the sense that the project was such that my agency became my client and my task was to design the logo and other graphics for a game application they were designing. This meant that every time I was talking to my seniors and looking for their suggestion I was getting an opinion of a client. The answers were direct ‘we like it’ or ‘no we don't like it’.  I consistently had issues with the seniors about not getting enough feedback because of the same reason, until I realised my role at the agency, ‘The Graphic Designer’. The decisions I was expecting from them were actually meant to be taken by me.

The experience taught me to take responsibility when required.
