So, The Orville. Love it. But right now I wanna talk about season 1 episode 9, or, the one with Rob Lowe. So I've seen a lot of people talking about how the whole thing with Darulio, Ed, and Kelly is p much circumstantial rape bc they were being influenced by the pheromones he was releasing. I've seen people shaming the show and Seth MacFarlane for sort of romanticizing this or sort of just excusing it. But, guys. I think that was kind of the point. We were supposed to hate him. We were supposed to think, "Oh my god, this horrible dude just basically used his alien period to take advantage of these people. This is p much rape.". Like. Yeah. That's the point. No one was making a joke out of it. It wasn't just a toss out episode. This was an actual thing. Also, same with Claire and Yaphet. The pheromones were spread to them and because of that Claire was suddenly attracted to Yaphet and he did the same as Darulio. The whole point of this episode was to show that these dudes are shitty people. No one is trying to excuse this or be like, "oh ho aren't those aliens so quirky", the point of that episode WAS to upset you. So. I guess. Good job Seth MacFarlane, I loved that episode.
