We took a path through Roddlesworth woods near Darwen, down to the reservoir, where a uneven path lead us beside it. The slight breeze blew ripples across the clear blue water which was surrounded by rich greenery. The trees around us stretched high above, their leaves spreading wide and shading us from the early afternoon sun. We continued down a grassy path to the other side of the reservoir where the path lead us through more woodland. To our left shallow waters trickled over rock where many children paddled. This path eventually circled back to where we had parked the car.

And this is why proper building regulations are impotent and not just “nimbyism” because a bunch of people in Darwen can’t be in their homes right now because there new homes built on former mining grow and well the ground is collapsing
