Taiwo - BPM (EP)

I’v only just come across Taiwo for the first time today and that’s mad when consider how dope she is. She’s only just dropped her new project ‘BPM’ today and after only listening through couple of times, you can hear that she has one of the most incredible voices. What stood out most however, is how genuine her music feels. You really get an insight into her pain and soul when you’re listening to her voice.

I’m familiar with a couple of the producers on the project, and the production is incredible but, it’s her voice that’s just completely spun me. I’v tried to find a link to purchase the project but, i’v not been lucky finding it so far. I fully recommend listening to the EP and following her journey. She has it...

Ayar - Patterns (Album) | Free D/L

I recently came across a dope new project from an artist called Ayar entitled, ‘Patterns’, and it’s pure excellence. Ayar is consistently calculated with his flow and wordplay and his beat choice is superb. He reminds me of a snappier version of Avelino. It’s hard to describe what this means, but he has the casual/easy flow like Ave, but he’s tighter on the beat. 

The album has been on rotation for a few days now and it’s rare for me to be able to play someones project without ever sipping a song, but ‘Patterns’ is definitely one of those ‘skippless’ projects.

It’s hard to pick a favourite song from the project, but because i’v sampled the same record in the past. ‘Eventual’ has to be my pick. It’s a great way to end an incredible project, and it sums up my feeling towards the album perfectly.

Mercury - Certain Man (Music Video)

Mercury’s ‘Certain Man’ is a straight vibe. The groove has you nodding your head in double time, and that snare! I’m finding myself having this on repeat at the moment. I’m walking through the house and i can hear the bass riff even when the song isn't playing. Anyway, shout out the producer. I couldn't find any info on the name, but the beat is ill. The vocals are calm and collected and Chiba has the visuals looking like a movie.

New visuals from Adam & Cuth on the blog today. ‘Happy Up’ is taken from the Formwork LP, which is available on CD / Digital / 12″ (Link Below), and is well worth copping if you aren't already hip to it.

I blogged about these guys a little while back, and after hearing some of the Formwork LP, i copped the CD and it’s been on rotation since then. Adam (The Rapper) with the gully vocals, and Cuth on the heavy Boombap shit is a perfect combination. Check the whole album, I promise you won't be dissapointed. 

Shout out to Max Palmer who directed, edited and shot the visuals for ‘Happy Up’.

Akala - NFTR (Interview)

Quick one on the blog tonight. Akala’s interview on NFTR (Not For The Radio) is worth checking out for anyone who is a fan of his music, or feel like they need to have some knowledge dropped on them. 

Akala is a such a well spoken guy who has an incredible talent in articulating his point. I found myself looking for more interviews with Akala, after watching this video earlier today. The guy passes on information seamlessly when he is talking.
