It’s a slippery slope, ya know? I get the compassion on Emma’s part. It would be thoughtless of her to not take Regina’s current circumstances into account. It’s definitely a delicate situation. And again, I’m fully aware these sneak peeks were short and we aren’t seeing the entire context. But I think, for the people who have been upset and are upset at how Regina treats Emma most of the time, I think their opinions are entirely valid. I know that I don’t talk to MY friends the way Regina talks to Emma -- but then again, I’m not a fairytale evil queen trying to walk the straight and narrow either. Again, it’s a slippery slope.
Do I want Emma to just bust in with Hook and start making out with him in the corner in front of everyone? LOL No. Do I think Emma is right to be cautious with Regina’s feelings...yes. I just wish Regina could do the same for Emma in return sometimes, that’s all. I get that these are two very different women trying to find a common ground. And I’ve been on board with their friendship for a while.
But when it comes to everyone babying and coddling Regina, allowing her to act however she’d like? I think there’s a line that should be drawn there. Grief doesn’t give you free reign to treat people poorly. Should Regina’s feeling be considered, should she be given support and understanding? Absolutely. But I have a big problem with Emma feeling guilty for her good fortune after everything she’s been through this season and throughout her entire life.
Again, these are just sneak peeks and I’m absolutely waiting to see the bigger picture before I judge b/c I’m sure there is one. And I like Regina, I do. This is a pro every character on OUAT blog, haha. But every now and then I get bothered by things, too -- and I think that’s okay, right?
