Haven’t had the chance to read the upd8 but I’m so curious, what are the ball things on the new girl’s head? I get from post osmosis that she’s the new fanspecies and sorta squid-y, but I can’t quite figure out if those are supposed to be eyes, fluid sacs, weird horns, or whatever else lol

I don't think we actually have a solid answer, I'm thinking they might be weird extra eyes that are just always kept closed since her species seems to be leaning towards horror terror vibes

I'll look for the post, but basically during one of those in-character AMA things on discord, it seems like they commented on a question asking "why they weren't going to introduce or reveal any messy trans woman characters for hiveswap", and their answer basically summarized as "we worry we'll make her look bad and thus make people angry over bad representation, get the artist who designed her harassed and also not make enough money(?)" and also some weird round about way of saying "we don't want to have a non-transfem artist creating this character as representation, but we're also not implying that we don't have non-transfem creators involved in our projects"

and like already that sounds really wishwashy to a kind of serious problem of lack of representation after all the discourse about transmasc roxy and upcoming characters in hsbc, (even with regards to just how badly the old homestuck crew was harassed that the project was literally cancelled), but also, it was all done with an in-character talking quirk, making it funny as fuck

Basically, I like making posts, but I don't like having them all be rebloggable, so I constantly turn my reblogs off, barring a few exceptions

However, I'm used to formatting my thoughts as separate posts/reblogs, so the only way I can reblog my own post when reblogs are off is to @ myself, since people who are @'d in a post can always reblog them

For some reason, [tumblr] didn't just make it so people who MADE the post with reblogs turned off are included in that, by default
