Favorite Color: you know, i just like so many colors in different contexts. i don't think there's a straightforward answer to this any more! so here are several combinations that i like just from looking at the color wheel:
Last Book: THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION, holy shit. i cannot emphasize that enough. a billion trigger warnings for this book. it just happens to be the last one i started reading. it's "Meditations on Violence" and uh. well. it's about violence! surprise. and how to try to avoid it or try to survive it/the aftermath. a grim but useful manual.
Last Movie: ohhhh we just made our friend watch The Hunt for Red October last night (and she loved it!! woohooo!!!). this is one of those movies
i don't really like a lot war movies. they're depressing when done right and upsetting in a different way when done wrong. that said, i have watched this movie probably 20+ times and i could watch it another 20 and still not get bored.
oddly enough though, i think the war/action sequences are some of the weakest parts of the movie. the scenes that focus on interpersonal drama and the asymmetrical information that the characters have (and more specifically the WAY that information is revealed) is the beating heart of the film. it loses momentum badly for me when it cuts to scenes of pure action and no interpersonal tension.
side note: extremely disappointed by the SEVERE lack of ramius/vasily works on ao3. they fucked. they fucked on that submarine. i know it.
Last TV Show: the friend who we convinced (trapped??) to watch Hunt for Red October has been showing us episodes of GUNDAM: The Witch From Mercury and it's really fucking good??? i wasn't expecting to be That into it but holy shit giant fighting robots, asshole politicians, and awkward lesbians. love it. plus the music is really good too
Sweet/Spicy/Savory: savory and spicy, and sweet is OK. just not that much of a sweets person, i guess.
Relationship Status: single and not looking to change that. fucking? sure. relationships? [that uncomfortable-looking emoji baring its teeth]
Last Thing I Googled: "alinor eso" there are so many fuckin city names in eso man i can't remember them all
Current Obsession: well, one of my friends died unexpectedly-ish about a week and a half ago and i've been playing an Insane amount of minecraft to cope. it has worked very well. single-player minecraft is weirdly relaxing. you can give yourself little tasks and work toward getting materials to complete them. feels achievable. i like that. genuinely unsure if the game has been made more forgiving since i played it when i was younger or if i'm just better at video games.
in the medium term, still really obsessed with RWBY!
Looking Forward To: would really like to get better at the rules of the larp because they're complex as fuck and it makes me a worse player for not knowing them. once i have a better understanding of how to play the game, i think it'll be a lot less nerve-wracking to. you know. play it.
but i've been working on the costuming for it and i'm hoping to make more props for my character and our friends.
in particular, i'd REALLY like the elves in game to become known for beautiful traps like giant golden spiderwebs that explode when you touch them, or a chest that you have to disarm by putting your hand in a sculpted snake's mouth (and if you fuck it up, it injects your character with nasty poison). you have to PHYSICALLY CRAFT traps that have to actually set off an electric buzzer in our game, so i'm looking forward to the challenge of building a Contraption that consistently works and can withstand the weather
also thinking about getting a new or gently-used sewing machine if i don't end up with a hand-me-down from a friend. so looking forward to larping in general, i guess!
