Hi! So can you do "8.a ghost tour" plz 🙏
Ooh, an anonymous ask! Thank you for the prompt! 🥰
Date 2 of 28: A Ghost Tour
| - 1 - | - Prompts - | - 3 - |
"And over here, lies the resting place of the ghost of Carlos," said Cass, pointing to one of the docks, "Or should I say - the unresting place. He had been bringing in the catch of the day when suddenly, he was hit in the head by an anchor! No one knew where the anchor came from, nor did they ever recover it, for Carlos and the anchor sank to the bottom of the ocean. Some people say he still roams the docks, asking who threw that anchor at him."
Sam and Bucky waited for... something to happen. They looked between Cass and the docks. Cass was in mid-pose, as if waiting for something to happen too.
When Bucky had invited Sam on a ghost tour, of course Sam was going to say yes. Sam was a bit of an aficionado of the supernatural, not quite believing in ghosts, but not one to say no to the idea.
Sam ate ghost stories up. He loved hearing them over open fires, loved reading them at night with a flashlight despite Bucky telling Sam they had perfectly good reading lights ("It's for the atmosphere, James!"), loved cuddling up to Bucky's chest in the dark and watching them.
Sam had told Bucky sure, but he'd also been on a lot of the big ones up in New Orleans and most of the small ones. When Bucky had told Sam that it wasn't in New Orleans, but actually in Delacroix, that piqued Sam's interest.
Once Sam learned it was a ghost tour guided By Cass, well, he fell in love with the tour instantly.
Cass pointed them to the haunted home of Tommy who had "died under mysterious circumstances", with Tommy dressed up in the window, showing how terrible an actor he was as he wandered to and fro, flailing around his arms like he was a used car lot blow up man.
Cass pointed them to the mother wandering the graveyard, Sarah hamming it up in her best white dress as she moaned about lost children, Cass talking about how she'll drag any random child wandering alone into her clutches, all of them running off when Sarah took her cue to notice Cass there.
Cass pointed them to the sightings of lost children on the shores from shipwrecks long since passed and how the ghost children asked any who came close to them if they were there yet, AJ along with several of AJ's friends dressed as old-timey children and groaning the question. Sam guessed they didn't discuss a specific date for the clothing because the outfits were all over the place time-wise (Sam's favorite was Michelle in a Cleopatra outfit).
It had been a pretty good ghost tour overall, a great choice by Bucky, really, and a huge treat for Sam.
"I said, Some people say he still roams the docks, asking who threw that anchor at him," said Cass.
Sam snorted.
"Carlos, huh - ?" Sam started before a giant splash crashed on the docks, something trudging up to the surface covered in seaweed.
Sam let out a genuine scream before Bucky jumped in between Sam and the creature that sloshed up to the surface, grabbing the sea monster like he was a wrestler preparing a finishing move, holding the seaweed man high in the air as Bucky yelled, "Back where you came from!"
That was when Sam heard the laughter from Cass. And the pleas from Carlos that it's a(n extremely well-done, Guillermo Del Toro-level) costume, let him take it off.
And Sam felt a little sheepish knowing that he did, in fact, get scared on this ghost tour brought to him by his twelve-year-old nephew.
"Maybe you shouldn't go around in that good of a costume, then, Carlos," said Bucky, offended on both of their behalfs that anyone thought he wasn't going to throw a seaweed man back into the ocean, squishing Sam's face into his chest as he held Sam indignantly, "We fight aliens and magic and robots for a living, what did you expect?"
Cass kept laughing, and Carlos kept pleading for Bucky to not pick him up again, and all Sam could do was smile at the scene.
"Thanks for getting us this ghost tour, Buck," said Sam, wrapping his arms around Bucky loosely.
Bucky beamed.
"Of course," said Bucky, placing a kiss on Sam's forehead, "Anything for you."

nicolas had to bite his bottom lip to stop himself from grinning too hard when his date card was accepted. he was actually going on dates with people that he did see some potential with - something he never expected would happen. now, it was kind of early in the morning, but if they wanted to get to the bay of pigs in time, they had to get going right after breakfast. he strolled over to mason’s room a couple of doors down, knocking on his door gently before leaning against the door frame, his hands jammed into the pockets of his denim shorts as he waited for mason to open the door.
