Date Puree
all you need is dates, I used medjool ones, and hot water
soak the dates in hot water for 30 mins or more until they become soft, then drain the water (or use it for a smoothie or something)
put in a food processor
be patient, keep scraping down the sides, add a tablespoon or two of hot water to help it along, or more if you want it to be runnier
and that's about it, it took me a while because my food processor is crap haha, mine had a similar consistency to peanut butter/jam
I don't know how long it'll last, I put it in an airtight jar in the fridge, I'll see what it's like after a week or two! Or freeze it and it'll last a few months.
uses for pureed dates:
as a spread on top of toast (instead of jam)
as a sugar substitute (replace in the ratio 1:1) - in cakes, puddings, cookies, pies, bars, smoothies etc
on top of oatmeal/porridge
make it more syrupy by adding more water and cooking it slightly, put it on top of ice cream/yoghurt
in a salad dressing
annnndddddd I ran out of ideas
