What is Dating Intentionally? . . It can show up in the questions you ask while on a date. . . A really good way to determine what dating questions to ask is to pay attention to what didn’t work in your past relationships. What was the biggest source of conflict? What the conflict topic itself challenging .. or was it perhaps the way conflicts were handled? What was missing? Was there something that would have made a positive difference in the relationship that you’d now like to prioritize? . . We all have different needs. And our past relationships can help us assess what those needs are. Sometimes we are the ones who change in a relationship and realize what used to work no longer does. It happens. Especially if we are doing deep healing work. . . If you are currently dating, I invite you take a moment to think about 1 or 2 key things that were missing in your past relationships. What questions could you ask to assess whether someone is willing to prioritize what you prioritize? I know people - primarily women - who are miserable because they're tired of dating and just waiting for THE ONE to come along. The danger of thinking dating is ONLY for the purpose of marriage, is that one can deprive themselves of all the beautiful gifts of love along the way. . . I can't speak for everyone but what I can say is that if you constantly tell your brain and heart to think there's only joy, happiness or love to be found in THE ONE, then it will naturally feel like everything else was a waste. You can certainly love your spouse/future partner ABOVE ALL... but never discount the 'short stories' of love along the way. . . I am told multiple times a day that people are happy about my love story with my new husband. I hope all of you are creating a life where you have our deep love AND I hope you are equally as vigilant to walk away where love IS NOT! ❤️ • It's important we learn what we were taught about "love" growing up... did it mean constant conflict? Or that we don't have any conflict? Did it never work out around you? Were your parents kind and generous to one another? Did love mean chaos and pain? Did you it mean hurt? Did it mean safety? Did your religion/culture preach love and then tell you you go to hell if you choose "wrong" or do something that is just innately human? • Some of us had poor examples of what "love" is. We were not taught that we have the birthright of being heard, loved, and safe. We were not taught that we could make mistakes. We were not shown that life and love include the space to be human and to learn as we go. • Because of this miseducation we tend to have a hard time walking away from what we were taught was "love", but in our bodies feels so, so wrong. And in our hearts we can feel the screaming to choose a different life, different behaviours and different ways of showing up for ourselves and to our lives. • To find love outside of you, you must find it inside of you. You need to connect to your truth and your values. Think of someone you truly admire... ask yourself, "what is it about them that I love and respect?" In that answer is a connection to your values. In that answer is how you want to show up. When you show up to life according to your values, you show up in love. When you model the behaviour you admire, you become someone you admire. From this space you will have no choice but to walk away from what is not love, because it won't be able to live in the environment you've cultivated within. • This is the beautiful journey of writing your own “love story”. He wants to lead you to where you both will be happy and free. You just need to let him. You just need to trust him. Even if you’re not sure. Trust that he will get you there. Being in that energy is liberating and empowering. I don’t feel like I need to build a million dollar company to prove my success as a woman. I would be much happier if I create my own craft and yoga studio and feed my creative potential doing what I love. Or if I have a job that I love showing up to every day. Or if I choose to home school my children and learn sewing in the meantime. Whatever will make me feel free, creative and fulfilled. “Happy wife, happy life,” they say. I agree. When women are happy in their feminine, when they are truly enjoying themselves and life, the whole world spins in a particular direction of love, joy, and freedom. But It all started with me. Suddenly men started to feel needed by me. My romantic partners, waiters, bosses, friends, and relatives. Not because they changed. Because I changed. Cause honestly, that’s pretty much their whole purpose in life: to be needed. By us women. By their families. And by the world. A man is here on a mission. He is here to find his purpose and pursue it fearlessly. The world needs men and their determination, strength, laser-focused ambitions and action in order to make shit happen. For us. For all of us. I’m not saying women can’t do the same. Of course, we can. And we know we can. We have proved it to ourselves, men and the world. But we can choose an easier way. We can be girls and stay girls. We can lead in a feminine way — not telling him what to do and taking everything into our hands. We can lead with our deep intuition, wisdom and emotional intelligence.
