Kai was the neighbor
You moved in the neighborhood and his apartment just happened to be right across yours
He knows the whole building
So he helped you move in, that gentleman
You’d heard the grandmas and the moms moon over him
And try to get his attention as their future son-in-law
But he’s just so modest and so nice
You gave him a soda for helping out because
You had to repay this wonderful man
He was all smiles
And sort of shy
It made you think it was too good to be true
So you asked him if he has a girlfriend
Then even asked
“Not even a boyfriend?”
He got so shy but still shook his head
“Just me,” he answered and shrugged as if it were normal
You still couldn’t believe it
He said he had to go so he went on his way
You were still thinking it was too good to be true
He had to have flaws
Because he was so charming and handsome
But also so nice and sweet
You’d see him in the elevator sometimes
And you’d say hi
Then one day he asked if you wanted to get something to eat
You were still assessing this man so you agreed so you can do some more investigating
Not really, you just wanted to spend more time with him, really
You both got fried chicken
He took you out to some mom and pop store
And he told you that he thought you were cute
And he noticed how you were nice to all the other neighbors too
And even the cab driver
And the waitress
And everyone
He was so impressed by how loving and gentle you are
You were getting embarrassed
So you switched the subject to work
And you started talking about what you did
Which you loved
So you kept rambling
And rambling
And when you noticed you were rambling, you stopped
But he said that he loved that you were passionate about your work
When was he going to stop complimenting you?
You weren’t sure
You both got more fried chicken and late night snacks from there
And he really was too good to be true
So good that you started liking him
You learned that he can be blunt, sometimes
He’ll tell you he had a bad day or a good day without you asking
So, when he asked if you wanted to be his girlfriend while you were both in the elevator
You weren’t surprised
BUT STILL
Sort of surprised
And, of course, you said yes
He’s always so sweet and kind-hearted
Making sure that you had everything you need
He’d be at your place more so than his
That it only took two weeks for him to move into your place
Everyone thought you were both crazy
But he was so sure of his feelings and it made you sure of yours
Always so thoughtful
Leaving you notes in the morning
Making you breakfast
Helping out with chores
He’ll always defend you when you’re hurt
If someone bumped into you, he’d be there to glare at them
If someone made you cry, he’d ask you their name
If you had a bad day, he’d immediately make you feel better
You found he’s shy but not really when he’s with you
He’s an open book
And will talk about all his feelings
He can’t even lie to you
If he did, you’d know right away
The one thing he doesn’t focus too much about you is your looks
Not that he doesn’t like them
Because he does
But he thinks that there’s better aspects about you that he loves
Like your heart
And who you are as a person
Because of the way he is
He also blurted out ‘I love you’ while you were both in the kitchen
You were both having tea
And he suddenly said it out loud
And you were still half awake
But you smiled and went over to hug him and say it right back
That’s when he knew
That you’re the one
Author’s Note: Are these even accurate to call as ‘EXO as your Boyfriend’?! I feel like they’re mini scenarios in bullet points, haha. But let me know if you like it! I still think the Chanyeol one was my favorite one thus far!
