They know we want to be fashionably late, but keeping him waiting any longer than 15 minutes is just plain rude. 2. Wear an appropriate amount of make up It's a date, not a Halloween party! Simplicity is key. 3. Don't spend the date texting or tweeting. Focus your attention on your date and leave the social networking for later. 4. Avoid talking about other boys. He does not want to hear about how much you miss your ex. 5. Be a good listener. It's okay to talk about yourself, but make sure to ask him questions and listen to his stories as well. 6. Don't nag. He'll appreciate it if you call or text a few days after the dare to thank him and say you had fun. but don't harass him the next week or panic if he doesn't respond immediately. 7. Don't throw your self at him. Think of yourself as a literally hot potato. If you don't want boys to drop you in an instant. don't launch yourself at them. You're not a cannonball. We're mixing our metaphors here, but you get the point. 8. Don't lead him on. If you realize you're not as interested in him as you thought, politely let him know when he asks you out again. It may upset him at first, but he'll surely appreciate your honesty in the long run. 9. Don't disrespect your body. Casually hooking up with a guy who isn't your boyfriend (or even hooking up with a guy who IS your boyfriend when you're not yet ready to go there) is an absolute no-no 10. Don't steal someone else's boyfriend. We know it looks semi-cool on Tv shows, but in real life, it just earns you bad karma. And makes you look crazy and desperate. And makes you paranoid that someone else will steal YOUR boyfriend. 11. Don't sneak around behind your parents' backs. No guy is more important than keeping your parents' trust.
