Reality Show Pitch:
Someone should hire me to be a contestant on a dating show, because I'm witty, bisexual, very touchy-feely, a huge flirt, love romance stories, am prone to meltdowns when I get overstimulated or stressed, have a background in acting, ...and am extremely aromantic, with no interest in anything beyond having a best friend, and that slot's been filled.
I'm basically a living drama bomb. One hundred percent able to play the part, zero percent intention of any follow-through ever. Absolute chaos goblin in this scenario.
The entire country and cast would probably hate me by the end of it, but it'd be amazing television.
(Also for anyone now worried, no, I've never intentionally led someone on in real life, this is just a skill set I've accumulated over my extremely odd life that would be potentially interesting to apply to a situation like this.)
An unlabelled aspec dating show in a warm European holiday location with chill, non-pressuring challenges except a series lasts a year to allow people to see how their feelings towards others develops
This is so true
started his man cuz to get her got cancelled for this week ( women can't win huh) and Jfhthfkuikolou I'm giggling nervous screaming anxious heart beating fast and my cheeks hurt from laughing this shit is too good I feel like I'm with them there it's so fun are straight dating shows this good too I doubt it cuz you have definite pairings and here EVERYONE is a candidate so every single interaction between anyone is like suspicious
I've never watched a dating show beyond ep 2 now so I know there would be heartbreak later and I don't know how I'm gonna deal with it but for nowwwww this is super super fun I wanna find love on a dating show too kinda let's fucking go
As someone who's never dated any guy, I've heard older adults tell me that 'it's okay to date and have some experience, because that's how you'll figure out what you like and dislike, and that's how you'll grow'.
And I completely disagree on this pathway.
First of all, it's a waste of time to me. Why would you date someone if you don't intend to make it long term? This doesn't interest me, and love is something sacred and precious.
Second of all, I can figure out what I like and dislike in other ways. Which is the actual point of my post...
I've personally always been observant of other people's experiences and that's how I learned a lot. Observing doesn't trump first-hand experience, but you still learn a ton without any repercussions.
The idea that you have to suffer to gain something is OLD ENERGY. This is an old pattern that is dissolving.
Two creative ways I've figured out A LOT of what I like and dislike in men and in relationship has been through otome games (I.e. love and deepspace) and dating shows.
I've watched quite a few, but none from Western countries because their dating shows are just drama and drama. I only watch Asian dating shows - while there's a touch of drama, it's also more genuine and slow paced compared to Western ones. Discussions and interactions between cast members are encouraged, genuine, and regular, and they actually have a brain in their head??? Lmao. And the shows are usually well structured imo.
At the end of the day, the pacing is still faster than real life because it's a dating show and it's meant to be intense and entertaining, but I am conscious of that. What I actually focus on is my own reactions to male casts, casts' interactions, how they behave, the qualities of the relationships and how they're created and maintained. I observe all of it and take notes for myself!
And I highly encourage people to do the same if you want to learn more about yourself without feeling pressured to jump into relationships!
Personally, I prefer things to happen naturally, so doing this works out perfectly. I'm learning more about myself, and I am getting clear with what I specifically want! :)
I have,, Problems with love on the spectrum as a show and how they represent autistic ppl, HOWEVER I would be So down for a love island/the bachelor style dating show but all autistics pls it would be so fun for Me specifically
