"Tobias!" Lena's voice cut through the air, and she stood between her roommate and her best friend. Both hands out, palms raised, and a scowl parting her lips. Her eyes however looked panicked. "Put. Down. The. Gun."
Chess looked calm. Relaxed. Even with his fingers wrapped around a nasty looking knife and his stance almost cat like behind Lena. Subtly trying to move her from his way by edging his hip around hers. As though Tobias was the threat here. Not a friend. But any friend of Lena 's were not always friends to him. Or truly even to her, at times. He had learned that the hard way. Just like he learned oftentimes he would have too break in. Like tonight, when he lost his key and Lena was unable to hear him knock thrice on the back door.
it was evident that he was just as comfortable with having a gun pointed at him as Tobias was at pointing it.
"Toby, " Lena snapped her fingers, causing Chess to cut a look towards her. "He's been my roommate for a year. It's ok." The look in his eye sent a chill down her spine. She had always known him to be a soldier. Had always had the thought he would protect her if she ever couldn't do it herself. She just didn't think it would happen in her own home. Against her new family. And when it wasn't even needed.
