I'm rewatching the first episode and I can't help but wonder how long Jason has been without Dave
I know he's coming back from the bombing and that has him all sorts of fucked up but imagine: Dave has only been gone from the BAU seven years. they had decades together. they were best friends at one point. they were so close that he named his kid after him.
does Jason reach out to Dave? or do they maintain some sort of radio silence? does Dave read about Bale in the newspaper, his hands crinkling the paper as he grips it? does Jason's finger ever hover over Dave's name in his phone late at night when the voices won't stop?
I just can't stop thinking about Jason and Dave.
