yall know how every school has that one couple where both kids are minor weirdos but keep it fairly chill unless theyre together, and then when theyre together they kick it up about ten notches? thats jade and davepeta.
okay, hear me out. when bird and cat instincts are on a venn diagram, whats in the middle? get up someplace high. so davepeta can be found in a tree, on the roof, in a particularly hilly national forest, all that. they think sliding down steep, gravelly cliffs on their butt is fun. they may come back home with bones in their pocket.
jade is absolutely nuts for nature. you leave her alone in the woods for an hour and she comes back with three lizards in her hair and shes already named them after famous scientists. (“...and the green one is curie!” “man okay thats really cool but im pretty sure darwin is an endangered speci-“ “i am not putting him back. fuck you.”) mulitple people have witnessed her rummaging through rocks trying to find fossils for her weirdo texan friends birthday.
so of course, when this intersects, you get davepeta helping jade up a cliff to check out these weird vines they found last week. you get two kids showing up late to first period covered in mud, sticks, and leaves, and proudly showing the weird bugs they found to their teachers. you get jade daring davepeta to eat a weird bug, and you get davepeta doing it and being sick for a week. you get several very exasperated teachers. theyre the stem/arts power couple and theyre here to chew gum and make bad decisions, and they cant chew gum in class.
