I love David Morrissey.
David Appreciation
David the Actor: Obviously DD played our leading man, who is such a dorky guy, but in my eyes he is so lovable. He’s a winning combo: FBI man and UFO believer, ever hopeful that he’ll find evidence of the next crazy phenomenon. David played Mulder so well, and as his “care-taker” he’s done a pretty darn good job. I don’t fault him for leaving the show early. After all, we got Return to Me out of it, in which David plays such a sweet, honest, wonderful man. It is such a funny/sad and romantic movie. He also has enough of a sense of humor to be in Zoolander, etc. as an archetype of Mulder, which I appreciate. He has got good range, and I hope he shows it even more with future projects.
David the Dad: Seeing David as a dad is always sweet. It never gets old seeing him with his kids, or seeing what he writes about them. Hearing him talk about them, it’s clear to see he loves them so much. Caring about something more than yourself is a big thing, and he takes measures to spend time with the people who matter the most to him and I respect him very much for that.
David the English Major: Having been an English major, I love this part of David, even though we don’t hear about it a lot (other than he was ABD and the name of it over and over again). He is a smarty pants, also, and has a dry sense of humor that makes me giggle. His sarcasm speaks to me. I like to think that if I ever had coffee with the man, we could chat about all that obscure literature you read in college. (Dream big or go home).
David the Musician: Yes, I have listened to his whole album. Yes, only because it’s David Duchovny. Do I enjoy it? No, because for one, I love him *so much* that I practically have to hold my breath while I listen because I want so badly for it to be good, but his voice is not the best. HOWEVER, I have an incredible amount of respect for him for doing this whole thing. Showing his kids how to learn something new at his age, struggling with it, but persevering. Also, getting up on stage multiple times while knowing you aren’t the best in the world, because I am such a scaredy-cat and could never work up the courage. So, many props to him for doing so. (Also--I wouldn’t mind singing back-up).
David the Friend: There is much shrouded in mystery regarding David’s most important (to us) friendship (aka with Gillian). What we do see, though, has been a phenomenal progression. They started out, thrown into a job together, and he helped Gillian basically learn the ropes of acting in television. We know she trusted him enough to tell him first (on the show) that she was pregnant, which is a great testament to his supportiveness and reliability, in my opinion. In most recent years it has been a delight to see the softy come out and hear him say and do the sweetest things (i.e. jacket-sharing, I’ve never said this, complimenting GA’s looks).
tl;dr : David Duchovny, DD, Duchovs, Duke, D-man is multi-faceted (don’t put him in a box) and I love him for it.
My Hated Pony
David: Oddly enough, I find Princess Celestia the most annoying pony. I don't want to learn things, I just want loads of fluffy adorableness.
Me: I've only watched like 4 episodes but I'm a fan of her flowing mane. Applejack pisses me off. There's only so much hillbilly I can take before I want to attack small children.
I love it when David Tennant plays an "evil" character, he is such a good actor
This is a David appreciation post.
I like that him and I have spent the last week or so in constant communication about Mass Effect and updating one another on our status' in the game. I'm 21 hours in so far. He's slowly meandering through at 10 hours. I think my party is complete and there will be no new additions (wish I got the DLC Prothean). Personal death count is at 12. Stupid Reaper on Rannoch killed me like 7 times. Eff you, Shepard! run when I tell you to! >:C
Surprised that Dave knows and likes Eurovision. Even more surprised that he appreciated the interpretive dancer for Finland's entry. I approve of his comment about how Russia's entry needs as many special effects as they can afford to maximize the performance.
+100 Paragon points to him for his constant hilarious banter.
Our new goal in life is for us to both be writers for Bioware. They won't get the same in-depth stories as the ones about Blasto that Dave and I offer as Starbucks baristas.
