Marked by lyricism that speaks boldly and honestly to its audience, David Browning’s “Now You See Me” EP is one that is wildly personal yet engaging, as it explores the complexity of modern-day relationships. The first song, “Stay Over,” is an electropop dance anthem with upbeat vocal melodies. With its fun, syncopated piano and synth arrangements, it has your body moving and your head bobbing along to the words convincing someone to give him a chance and stay because it might be love someday. “Call Me When You’re Single” is the next track on the EP, beginning with a beautiful piano melody and introducing a walk down memory lane. This song ever so slightly slows the pace of the EP down instrumentally, and is more exploratory in instrumentation. Revealing his talent for storytelling, he showcases an unexpected faster-paced lyricism alongside a captivating storyline that meshes well with the flurry of stringed instrumental sound in the background of this song. The EP is rounded out by a more emotive song. “Always Inside” commences with a more melancholic piano intro. An entrancing ballad dominated by tender vocals and softer instrumentals, it allows the audience to focus more on the depth of lyricism that powers through. In all, the “Now You See Me” EP allows us a tasteful window into what Browning has to offer, perfectly exhibiting his range of musical talent and passion.
