In Memoriam... Requiem

A few bits of music to round out the Memorial Day...

Heroes, Lost and Fallen by David Gillingham - a Vietnam Memorial

Requiem by John Rutter - one of my church's choirs does this and sometimes I play with them in the orchestra.

Requiem for a Soldier from the film Band of Brothers - Played this (piano) with a string bassist and guitarist, along with a soprano, bass, and baritone vocalists yesterday before Mass.  But this link is to a live performance by Katherine Jenkins.

Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - one of the most popular requiems.  Still looking for a chance to perform this with orchestra and choir.

And finally in tribute,  The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa as done by the US Marine Band.

If you ever served or are still serving, thank you for your dedication!  While war is never the answer, you have helped protect our freedoms.

David Gillingham's Blue Lake Fantasies for Unaccompanied Euphonium iv. Ancient Natie Air performed by Nicolas Barnett, a student at the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music. 

The reason I choose this video is that I think it is important to remember that much of the euphonium community is made up of students and aspiring artists (including myself). It is important to give them support too.
