BAD TAKES on the Left About Republicans Abandoning Trump
The Difference Between Prejudice and Racism
Some people would like you to think that there's no different between “prejudice” and “racism” not because it’s true but because they're more than often trying to hold on to some vestige of power in a society that is well on it’s way to becoming less white and more brown.
In that way they’re like centrist Democrats or Republicans: No matter if they call themselves their purpose is to maintain and preserve the status quo as much as possible.
David Packman–a so-called Progressive and host of the David Packman Show on Youtube–takes a similar tact.
Below is a video where Packman discusses the issue and below that an image and a link to an article that destroys the fallacy Packman so willingly supports.
This is the difference Packman seems more than willing to ignore, namely if the white man in the video were simply prejudiced against blacks, his calling to cops–apparently on a person who was guilty of nothing besides being in a particular place at a particular moment–wouldn’t matter because the police would treat the call as little more than a nuisance.
Instead of what typically happens, namely when the police are called and arrive, the response is often out of proportion to the actual event which is because there are societal structures in place that give added weight and influence to the actions of white people, over those of non-white people.
And the link above is only one example, which people like David Packman can ignore because as a white person–and part of the problem–he can afford to.
