mARTch day 17: cool colors

I am a Trexel apologist actually. Ever so slightly. Because this man has so many fucking issues. He almost canonically has C-PTSD and BPD, canonically has hallucinations, delusions, and symptoms of bipolar disorder, and I could also make an argument for him showing signs of OSDD/DID.

I was listening to Glad You're Alive (which I am aware the canonicity of in regards to Trexel's character is probably dubious but eh). We know that Trexel isn't young, and in my mind he's probably mid-late 40s. In Glad You're Alive he does say that David 7 is one of the few people he's actually had a connection to in his life. Which actually explains so much. I think Trexel's two closest companions were probably Percy and David 7. Percy the clone who was, y'know. Brutally taken away from him and almost certainly recycled. Are we surprised that Trexel began desperately cycling through clones upon becoming part of the consultancy team? Are we surprised that he utterly refuses to get attached to anybody ever?

ANYWAY, Trexel says that David is also "part of a very small selection of people with whom I've really tried" so like. It's also not like he's actively attempting to send David to his death, and indeed does take steps to prevent it. I think a very large problem with Trexel is that he either doesn't know how to - or physically can't - establish meaningful and genuine relationships, but he tries. I think to an extent he cares about David, he just has absolutely no concept of what that means or what he's supposed to do with it. He's had no real relationships before, he's got no idea HOW to care about someone, but he's trying. I do genuinely think that he is doing his best when it comes to his relationship with David, it's just that his best is absolutely fucking terrible.

The Stellar Firma logo is on their right chest and thin strip, presumably showing their name or ID number, is on their left. They clutch their tail nervously in front of their chest. A label nearby says, “holds tail when nervous.” Their mouth is open slightly, revealing two pointed canine teeth.

Two simplistic sketches show David’s silhouette with their legs bent, showing off how they bend at the knee and high ankle. One sketch is labeled “thin, agile legs” while the other is labeled “good at jumping. parkour!”

A small sketch in the middle shows just David’s tail curving around, labeled “tail is very expressive, shows emotion as much as facial expressions do.”

Another simplistic sketch shows David reaching up, showing off how tall they are.

A small sketch at the bottom shows one of David’s hands. It is basically the same as a human hand, except that the fingers are pointed and lack nails. The pinky in much longer, thinner, and sharper than the other fingers. The notes around the hand say, “Long, thin, claw like hands. Very dextrous! Pinky is very sharp and thin.” There is another sketch of David’s tail, because I like to draw tails.

At the top, there are four drawings of David’s head. One is in more detail. It shows David crying and shouting. The other three are very simplistic and a bit meme-y. One shows David looking off to the side with a blank stare and has the caption “wut.” Another shows David staring straight at the viewer. She has no mouth and her eyes are focused, glinting points of light. The caption says “run.” The last one shows David smiling and blushing. There is a flower in their hair. The caption says, “i have done nothing wrong ever in my life (lying).”

Another sketch beneath them shows David’s head and shoulders. Their ears are back and they glare with narrowed eyes off to the right. The caption says, “Right. Just a clone.”

Lastly, there are two more drawings of David’s tail. The first drawing, their tail is wrapped around a wrench and holding it up. In the second drawing, her tail is clutching a mug. The note beside the drawings says, “Prehensile tail! This is what they mean by ‘third arm’.” End ID]

I have never related to David-7 more than when Trexel was trying to explain the concept of the romance novel (and romance in general) and David was just like ?????????
