David Jackson Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson

What a delight music legend David Jackson is. No surprise. I was warned by his legions of loyal fans, most of whom are his brilliantly talented contemporaries. This was fabulous fun, topped perhaps by pre-fed stories with lots of misinformation which paved the way for the truths, which proved to make it all even more fun. So what if David wasn’t actually at Columbia Studios when George Harrison hid the pot from the cops, he told great story! Who cares if David was with Cher in DC, not the Chateau Marmont when she got a call from Jimmy (President Carter), not Henry Kissinger, or when he was offered his own show after being a regular on The Andy Williams Show he didn’t turn it down, it just… well… he tells it... and then some… and then some more. Great stories, all. We hear about Hoyt Axton and how they wrote Ringo’s No No Song, and Three Dog Night’s Joy To The World, and what happened to David in both, there’s the Chambers Brothers, Bo Diddley, Jackson Browne, John Denver, Sonny, and Sonny and Cher, Glen Frey, Jimmy Buffett, a GREAT story about Roger Miller and Glen Campbell, The Bohemian Grove, what that gentleman’s club is really all about,  and his upcoming trip to Marrakesh to play and… play. What a life. Well lived, still living to the max. This man is damn delight. Top to bottom, start to finish. I can’t wait for his return to the States and his Friday nights at The Write Off Room with The Deductions. Till then I’ll be hitting his Bandcamp

Today Live! I met sparkling David Jackson at a Teresa James And The Rhythm Tramps gig where Snuffy was filling in for Billy Watts. I didn’t know who David was but I could tell he was special. In the break, both Teresa and Terry Wilson echoed, “You’ve got to have him on your show!” The David Jackson legend started with his co-writing Joy to the World,  with Hoyt Axton, as well as Ringo’s The No No Song, being a principal comedian and musician on The Andy Williams Show, say what? That got my attention. There was a story about George Harrison, John Lennon, and… well, I’ll let David tell it… Cher, The Chateau Marmont, I’ll let  David tell that one, too. And the stories about John Denver, and Roger Miller… The Chambers Brothers… Bo Diddley, Joe Cocker, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Glen Frey, Sonny Bono, Dwight Yoakum, the late great Jimmy Buffett, and a host of other stellar talents David recorded and toured with. We got what to talk about and I can’t wait! He’s fun! And talented, well hell, that’s a damn given!

A case of animal abuse is under investigation in Franklin County. The sheriff's office says on April 14, 2020 authorities went to a home on Adams Lane to check out reports of animal abuse and neglect. According to the sheriff's office, 45-year-old #DavidJackson, of Frankfort Ky, had 38 pit bull dogs on his property. The sheriff's office says many of the dogs had various untreated medical conditions. We're told many of the dogs had mange, nine of the dogs are pregnant, several tested positive for heartworms and were severely and physically neglected, many of which have severe dental issues consistent with training for #dogfighting The sheriff's office says the dogs were tied to stakes in the ground, trees, and other immovable objects with very large metal chains, one of which weighed approximately 42 pounds. They say the dogs had been there for quite some time. Many of them did not have any clean water or food in their bowls and very little shelter from the elements. The sheriff's office says Jackson was arrested Tuesday and he is currently facing 38 counts of animal cruelty. The sheriff's office says they do expect more charges to be filed as the investigation unfolds. All the dogs are being treated for various medical conditions as well as overall neglect. The sheriff's office says 9 of the dogs have been taken in by in the tinwoofinnn on Holmes Street and tin Woof Inn, and two are at the Franklin County Humane Society.
