Stumbling through Hexen II - Part 4-1
It’s Friday night, and I hope you’re ready for some excitement! Oh, sorry, no, it’s just this again.
The fourth - and please God, last - part is the Roman level Septimus, and is the one that I can remember by far the least about because the first time I played through it I followed a guide instead of spending days on end running around completely stuck. It's also possible that the new innovations like cutaway cameras play a part in making this section a little less vexing than the others.
Stumbling through Hexen II - Part 2-1
A change of scenery as we’re transported into the Aztec Zone! Here, we fight the Cheetahmen and retrieve two of the four elements that this civilization knew nothing about.
Stumbling through Hexen II - Part 1-3
In this thrilling episode of the game that can’t decide whether it’s an FPS or some sort of action RPG, I defeat a crystal golem and one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but am utterly defeated by a swimming pool.
Stumbling through Hexen II - Part 1-2
Continuing through the Mediaeval Zone of Blackmarsh, we make our way into a depressing walled-off village (or as much of one as the Quake Engine could render), hit most of its surfaces with a hammer and discover the world’s most well-defended shovel.
Stumbling through Hexen II - Part 1-1!
This came out of nowhere, but this was a big game for me when I was younger and I wanted to show it off to people. It’s in a weird space between first person shooter and action RPG, with puzzles consisting mostly of belting walls with a hammer to see what breaks - something I said about Super Metroid ages ago when I played through it and now apologize for.
This video starts us off in the Mediaeval Zone, and features flinging a sheep over a wall with a catapult.
