Justice: How does Rook feel about the circumstances that led to them leaving their faction? What does returning feel like?

Rowena felt betrayed when she was sidelined. Sure, she fucked up a long running Crow operation and SURE she directly disobeyed Viago's orders but Treviso is her damned city! It's the only place that ever felt like home. She eventually accepts that what she did was brash, while maintaining that she did the right thing.

Returning, however, was terrifying. She's trying to come across as tough and collected and like she knows what she is doing and BAM she's back and here is Teia and she's about to see Viago in person for the first time since her fuck up and yep, she's probably going to feel like she is going to get sick. Her feelings for Viago range from mentor to obnoxious fool to brother figure and having him upset with her feels like a knife to her flesh. Not that she would ever admit that, however. Not in a million years. Not for a million gold.

......okay, maybe for a million gold. Quickly. Once.

the lovers and the hermit for the rook asks!

The Lovers: Who is your Rooks most significant relationship within the Veilguard? How do they help Rook feel seen and understood?

Rooks most significant relationship in the Veilguard, believe it or not, is Varric. While Rowena romances Lucanis and I have a lot of feelings about that, Varric believed in her. He thought that, even though she fucked up in the eyes of her only family, he supported her and boosted her into a position where she could feel free to help people. The little people, the poor and forgotten people, not just those who could afford her price.

The Hermit: When Rook is alone with their thoughts, what do they think about? Is solitude a blessing or a curse for them?

Being alone is something Rowena cannot stand. She spent most of her youth alone and so she flits from room to room, spending all her waking moments in someone else's presence. When she is alone, she is stuck with her thoughts, and that isn't something she can handle. She would prefer to put on a dorky, happy exterior so nobody sees just how broken she is inside.

The Hermit: When Rook is alone with their thoughts, what do they think about? Is solitude a blessing or a curse for them?

Rowena does everything, and I do mean everything, to not be alone. Her mind is always full, always talking and not stopping even when she tries to sleep. This has caused some serious insomnia, so at least she's used to not sleeping when they got to the Lighthouse. She spends her days (and nights) before the Veilguard doing contracts, having flings and annoying Viago to death. At the Lighthouse she spends a lot of time with the companions, learning about them and spending time with them. She spends a lot of time with the other insomniacs as well.

The Sun: What is Rook passionate about? How do they fuel that passion?

Rowena is passionate about art, and people's wellness. When she was sold to the Crows as a child, Viago took the time to teach her how to read and write, and about artwork. She learned to draw, and now drawing and painting are her two biggest Hobbies behind contracts and reading. She often will paint and sell to Antivan aristocrats, donating the funds to the people of Treviso. She kills Venatori and saves slaves as often as she can - she remembers that life. She won't allow anybody else to experience it.

The Moon: How does Rooks past impact their values? Does their past come with any biases or blind spots they have to account for?

Rook was stolen as a child from Arlathan after her clan was killed and sold to a Magister in Tevinter. She spend the next six or so years as his slave, as his "favourite". The Magister had a specific inkling for...relations with children. After she had grown too old for his tastes, she was sold to the Crows. Her contract to become a fully fledged Crow was simply chosen - and easily done. Since then she has spent as much time as she could helping others in that situation - any slaves. Elf or not, doesn't matter. She will not let anyone - ANYONE feel the pain she felt.

The High Priestess: Which does Rook follow more - their head or their heart?

Her heart, 1000%! Her heart is what led her down her life path, led her to rescuing Varric, led her to destroy the Statue at the ritual, led her to loving Lucanis. She is the first to admit that her book smarts aren't the best, and that she is rash but her heart is always meaning well.
