Alas, "The Dawngate Chronicles" have come to a close. I collected some of my favorite background and color work from our 87-page run.
Many thanks to my partner-in-art Nicholas Kole and our writer Chris L'Etoile. Thanks also to the team at Waystone, and everyone who played the game and enjoyed the comic!
AND, as just released on the Chronicles main page- the final pages of the Dawngate Chronicles as they exist, now that the project is kaput.
We managed to finish up the Zeri/Kahgen arc (and in style- two pages I'm pretty proud of there). So the technical ending of the comic leaves us outside the city walls with Zeri, unable to return. "Aw, Crap." APPROPRIATE, N'EST PAS? HOW LIKE LIFE.
The next arc was planned to follow the two groups of envoys as they arrived at important meetings in the East and the West to discuss the implications of Eidlous' Dawngate and the ways the world has changed. Raina and Zalgus arrive late to Anzerani manor to be greeted frostily by the Duke and treated to a healthy helping of good ol' Maridian misogyny. Renzo and Zeri join the moot at Lhan Getur and encounter Viyana. The penultimate page is a brilliantly bizarre dance of flirtation between Renzo and the big demon lady. My favorite line from that script: "Some look disgusted, others awed, and Renzo looks...transported." My OTP. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Thanks for reading, comic fans- stay tuned here for the next adventure! It's going to be a doozy. And the silver lining? I'll probably be on tumblr a lot more, now...
Dawngate is over, boys and girls. I'm still collecting my thoughts, but it's been a joy to make this webcomic with you guys. Stay tuned.

Which means the Dawngate Chronicles continues with a new page and more Zeri! :D I really like this arc, personally- this and the upcoming page are a few of my favorite recent beats in the story. It's nice to pause along the way to explore the characters and the world at a slightly slower pace.
