Okay, question -- you said you don't like organised religion and stuff. Do you still believe that the Bible is truth, even if you don't like the way some people use it?
Good question.
But the short answer is no. I don't think that the Bible, in its entirety, is truth. I think it's an interesting look back at how Judaism and Christianity came about. I like the stories, and the histories in it. I enjoyed learning about it in school. And I do really believe Jesus's message, which seemed to be (to me at least) "Love one another," and just generally respect people and don't judge them and give help to those who need it.
But at the same time I have a problem with a lot of stuff in the Bible because a lot of it was really demeaning to women, the disabled, the sick, the poor, etc. And I think that a lot of people have clung to those messages (in particular the ones about policing women's bodies/homosexuality/marriage) instead of the overarching one which (again, this is just my own interpretation and people are allowed to have opinions very different from mine) was don't be a dick.

dawnsblade said:Tbh, I have only rarely found that — as example — men hate women. In my experience, I’ve usually seen that they simply don’t realise how fucking stupid they’re being, or simply don’t understand what’s wrong with their view… most of the time.
i guess it depends..maybe i'm more cynical than you... like, there was one post on tumblr that said that the men in your life might not hate YOU and they might respect you but that doesn't mean they respect women as a whole or don't hate wome nas a whole or treat many other women horribly...but yeah maybe i'm cynical lol
North Pole.
"The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole, is defined as the point in the Northern Hemisphere where the Earth’s axis of rotation meets its surface. It should not be confused with the North Magnetic Pole.
The North Pole is the northernmost point on the Earth, lying diametrically opposite the South Pole. It defines geodetic latitude 90° North, as well as the direction of true north. At the North Pole all directions point south; all lines of longitude converge there, so its longitude can be defined as any degree value.
The sea depth at the North Pole has been measured at 4,261 m (13,980 ft) by the Russian Mir submersible in 2007and at 4,087 m (13,410 ft) by USS Nautilus in 1958. The nearest land is usually said to be Kaffeklubben Island, off the northern coast of Greenland about 700 km (430 mi) away, though some perhaps non-permanent gravel banks lie slightly closer. The nearest permanently inhabited place is Alert in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut, Canada, which is located 817 km (508 mi) from the Pole.”
"Just take it," said the figure. "I haven't time for a lengthy explanation." The stranger tossed the metal cylinder to the betazoid before dashing off as fast as he could run, throwing Aella a brief and mischievous grin as he went.
Aella glanced down at the cylinder thrown at her before looking up, watching the retreating stranger. Her fingers absently went to the insigna on her uniform, which cackled in response, before stating, "Lieutenant Moore here. I need engineering. I just... received something that needs to be looked over." After hearing the confirmation that a team would be with her shortly, she began to jog after the retreating figure, wondering how he planned on escaping out of a spaceship in warp.
The odd figure circled Aella with a gait akin to a panther, stopping only briefly to note her uniform before reaching into the folds of his cloak and producing a short, stubby cylinder that glinted in the faint light. "Who I am is unimportant. Take this, and open it when the time is right. You will know."
Aella glanced up at the man above her with intrigued confusion plain in her eyes. The Betazoid backed up from the one in front of her, minutely, as if unsure of herself.
"I do not believe that is a logical action. What is this you are trying to give me?"
