Carla: I want to name him Adwin-Jamie O’Neal.  We can call him ‘Ajay’ for short.

Adwin almost wants to cry at the thought of naming his son after his father.

Adwin: Yeah...okay. What do you think of that Ajay?

Ajay squirms and wiggles in his father’s arms. 

Adwin: You're being named after a great man...not me - but my father. I’ll be sure to tell you all about him, okay?

Adwin lifts Ajay up to his shoulder and gives him a gentle hug. 

Adwin: That’s from your grandparents.

Peaceful Meadows Cemetery is slowly beginning to fill with the past heirs and spouses of the Wallace Family. Jami and Teresa are laid to rest side by side in front of Zeton and Clif’s graves. Friends and family gather and the tears begin to flow as everyone says goodbye to two beloveds.

When Dexter heard the news, he knew that he wasn’t about to miss this moment to say goodbye to Teresa.  She was like a 2nd mother to him before and after his own mother passed away. He’ll never forget her kindness.

R.J. and Hollis take a moment to pay their respects to Clif and Zeton. Dexter joins them, even though he never had a chance to meet Clif or Zeton.

Adwin is in tears, feeling worse than he’s ever felt before when Abbie walks over to him. 

Abbie: Adwin...Carla just texted me. She’s in labor!

Adwin lies down on his bed without even bothering to remove his shoes. Sleep immediately overcomes him.

Talib is returning home with Skittles. He didn’t have the heart to tell Adwin why he really needed to get away from the family and think. After the funeral, their Uncle Hollis asked Talib to move in with them. Talib said no right away, but then his aunt Maddie sweetened the deal by saying that if he wanted to live with them - they’d send him to the best private school in the area. It’s the school that his grandmother Zeton attended for precociously gifted students. With both of his parents being dead, his aunt Maddie assured him that he’d qualify for a full scholarship. 

The last thing Talib wants to do is leave his brother, but the chance to attend the best school in the area is huge. And with his brother now being a new father, he knows that him living with their uncle would make Adwin’s life much easier...whether Adwin cares to admit it or not. 

Talib finds Adwin fast asleep when he returns home. He figured that Adwin would decide to move into their parents’ bedroom, but Talib is glad to see Adwin in his own bed. Talib really doesn’t want to sleep in the room alone tonight.

Adwin drags himself home and sees that Talib is already there all by himself.

Adwin: Where is everyone?

Talib: They all decided to meet up at Uncle Hollis’ house after we left the cemetery.

Adwin: Why aren’t you there?

Talib: I came up with an excuse to sneak away. I just wanted to be alone for a while. How’s Carla?

Adwin: She’s good. I have a son!

Talib looks over at Skittles.

Talib: He feels it too. 

Adwin: Who...Skittles?

Talib: Yeah...you can see it in his eyes.

Adwin: Finish your breakfast. We have a long day ahead of us. 

Talib reluctantly eats a few more bites but finds it hard to swallow because of the big ball of emotion that has taken residence in his stomach. Adwin is feeling the same way and gives up on trying to eat as he suddenly feels the need to cry. 

Neither of them manages to eat everything on their plates. They get up at the same time and wordlessly begin to clean up the kitchen out of habit because they know it’s what their mother would have expected them to do.

Realizing that he and Talib have to be at the cemetery soon, Adwin goes into the kitchen to make sure they eat something before they go. He thinks about just pulling out a box of cereal, but figures they’ll need something with a bit more substance just in case they’re at the cemetery longer than expected. 

Although he’s never cooked anything in his life, he decides to attempt eggs and bacon.  Things don’t start out so well, but Adwin works his way through a few mishaps.
