DAY6 Delivers Stellar Performance with Gravity World Tour in Singapore
DAY6, a name no stranger to K-pop enthusiast all around, makes their return to Singapore for the third time! First stepping foot back in 2015 and 2016, the return was deemed special as they mark their first full on concert with GRAVITY World Tour in the heart of The Star Theatre, Singapore.
As the lights dimmed and the members finally emerged, it didn’t take long for the crowd to instantly stood up as they opened the stage with “Best Part”, “Sing Me”, “I Wish” and “Somehow”. After what felt like a rush of excitement, the boys finally took a breath as they introduced themselves as member Jae, Sungjin, Wonpil, Young K and Dowoon. Jae mentions how it’s been a long wait not just for DAY6 but MyDays as well, expressing how much they’ve missed everyone. The crowd still on their feet, were told to let loose and thoroughly enjoy themselves through the rest of the show. The members seen dressed in comfortable casuals, but their presence alone were strong from the get go as they continued to rock on the night.
The show continues with their latest hit, “Time Of Our Life” and “So Cool” as the music transitioned to a special drum solo performance by Dowoon, followed by a bass solo from Young K. It didn’t stop there as DAY6 continued to heat up the stage as they performed “Out of My Mind” and “Feeling Good”. During the talk segment, the members once again thanked everyone as they couldn’t contain their excitement of the day. The members tried their best to converse in English as a way to connect closer, while getting encouragement from each other and the fans. Wonpil expressed how his heart feels full of energy and Sungjin excitedly exclaimed how awesome it felt while jokingly tells everyone to follow his Twitter.
Before continuing, Young K asked if everyone has listened to their latest ep; ‘The Book of Us: Gravity’ and shared with us his favourite songs from the album, which they performed after with “For Me”, “How To Love” and “Wanna Go Back”. Young K teasingly asked if the crowd were okay with the songs, “Is it good? or great?” in respond were loud cheers that was no question that everyone in unison agreed.
Phasing halfway through the show, they continued with medley of songs with “Like That Sun”, “Shape of You”, “Days Gone By”, “Treasure”, “Blood” and “Get Lucky”. The rush of adrenaline felt from the energy DAY6 emitted nonstop slowed down as it transitions to Wonpil’s impressive synth solo. Jae mentioned that they’ve been reading the endless request from fans to perform old songs in their sets, and did not fail to fulfill their wishes, much to our delight. Reminiscing through some of their older hits, they continued with “Colours”, “I Need Somebody” and “I Wait”. It came to realisation that we were coming to close to the end, as the whole show felt like it’s only been 5 minutes.
DAY6 continued to perform “Lean on Me”, “Headache” and a special guitar solo from Jae. Still feeling the hype, they didn’t stop the heat with “Warning” and “Shoot Me”. As the light dimmed, fans lit the hall with rainbow colourful lights as “Cover”, “You Were Beautiful” and “Congratulations” played through, a beautiful sight to witness. Fans then surprised them with another event as they played a video showing images of all the endless support from MyDays, singing the end of Beautiful Feeling while holding banners in support of DAY6. The mood turned emotional for both members and MyDays, as they shared their feelings from the night, promising to also come back to Singapore very soon.
The show comes to a wrap with an encore as they finally performed their last two songs, “Dance Dance” and “Freely”, with that ending the show with a great note. DAY6 has proven themselves not only to be an amazing band, but great performers to boot. It’s not an exaggeration to say their shows are worthwhile and not to be missed, as we certainly did had a time of our life and truly a time that will always be memorable.
