i noticed that you’ve been talking about character and characterization a lot recently and how you don’t let fanons influence you. i just think that’s awesome because your characterizations of kuroo are just my fav!!! i feel like a lot of other fics portray him as this alluring charmer with an insidious smile who also is just amazing at chemistry, which can be true to an extent. but the way you write about him just makes me feel like i’m a schoolgirl with a crush on my sweet classmate lmao. i just really enjoy your kuroo works and reading them like actual stories without getting that *cringe* feeling i get from other ~stereotypical fanfics~

ANYWAY, i find fanon a really interesting thing because oftentimes a character will popularly be portrayed as... nothing like their canon counterpart. fanon seems to take certain traits and then amplify them to the detriment of anything else in the character. i mean, everyone knows that but it fascinates me sdflkjfsdlkj
i think something i like to remind myself of when writing about the haikyuu boys is that they’re literally just. teenagers or young adults, living very normal lives in japan. i try to get at that groundedness as best i can :’) like how would kuroo realistically act? what would he actually do or say? BUT ALSO YOU SAYING YOU READ THEM LIKE ACTUAL STORIES IS... MORE OF A COMPLIMENT THAN YOU KNOW KLDLKJDFFSD I AM LYING FACE DOWN IN THE DIRT........
