I’m happy this discourse on X is happening because it leads to why I don’t mind a Jason Todd redemption narrative. A lot of people want Jason’s path towards redemption to be about killing, and DC isn’t helping by making that the main contention point.

I’m not saying it it isn’t but if you wanna have Jason be redeemed, it needs to be primarily about Jason’s actions in UTRH. Yes he took money from prostitution. Yes he’s fucking shitty for it. That’s the point. If he has to have any redemption it needs to be a direct confrontation on how he hurt Gotham through being a Crime Lord.

Question for the peanut gallery; is it plausible or in character for Jason to hide the fact he has a kid from Bruce + Batfamily? And if so how long do you think he could keep it a secret?

I'm at Thriller Bark right now and though I've been spoiled for a lot, a lot of little character details I'm unaware of. So I'm just throwing this out into the air. Maybe it'll be answered. Garp wanted Ace and Luffy to join the Marines as a form of protection right? Not so much that the Marines were safe, but they would be in a place within that system where he had a lot of power and status to throw around to protect them more if anything were to happen. That's at least my thought process.

It doesn't make sense any other way, because the WG and Marines were gladly slaughtering anybody that they perceived as having a slight against them. It wouldn't matter if Ace, god forbid, became a lapdog with high achievements and ranking, they still would've dragged him to the execution stand. Would Garp get involved in this off scenario? Because he can't argue about his role as a Vice Admiral preventing him from acting? Or maybe he wouldn't?

Again just thinking out loud I'm not at the point of the story yet where we get more into his character. But like, Ace and Luffy joining the Marines doesn't make sense from a protection standpoint all that much
