off the record: a list of intrusive questions designed to make your Idol think.
Q. What advice would you give any hopeful rookies?
Hmm..... any advice? Ah-- [ /he smile sheepishly, amused by the fact that he’s now in that position to give advices to others; it feels funny and amusing and Jinyoung was lost in thought for a second at the thought, licking his lips and chuckling softly. ] --not that I’m confident in saying anything since I believe there are so many instances which I shall improve myself and for our group, but for rookies, I think it’s important to always think of the members first wherever we go, and to steer away from thinking about only ourselves. Rather than thinking ‘I musn’t look bad here’, it’s best to think of something like ‘I should do my best to avoid negatively impacting my fellow members’ -- I think its’ important to keep that kind of mindset? Since a member’s doing can impact greatly to others. Another important thing is, of course, to always practice your best and have fun on the stage and spend a lot of time talking with the other members, as communication between one and another is very crucial to prevent any miscommunication. To put it simply, when you have a solid bond with your member, whenever something bad ensues you can overcome it together because you’re a team, so always remember that.
Q. Have you ever opposed any of your superiors? If ‘yes’, what sort of impact did it have on you and/or your members and if ‘no’ would you ever consider doing so?
Thankfully, we’ve been able to communicate things really well with the higher-ups in the company. As we started out with very few staffs, we’ve grown really close to each other and thus we manage to cooperate well from one another. So instead of saying that the staffs are superiors, they felt more like a family that supervise us and remind us when we’ve gone off from our rein? [ /laughs heartily. ] And on a case when there are difference in opinions between the members and the staffs--we always try our best to relay our thoughts and opinions to them discuss it together to solve the issue instead of ‘opposing’ them per say. Moreover, if the staffs opposed us, then there must’ve been a solid reason behind that, right? So in case that happens, we’ll listen to their opinion first and talk about it with them.
