Back propped up against the wall, there were some cardboard boxes behind him, so the cold musky surface of the wall didn’t fully penetrate through the thin fabric of his shirt. Eyes blinking barely, as he scanned the pages of the book in hand. This was the only tiny break they’d get during the day, it was a part-time job, and yet you’d think their manager had no idea what it meant. It was easy, students, desperate for any job, would take just that, ANY job. 

                             “I’m an only child, so I wouldn’t know. ” 

Not really a lie, but it was something he never really wanted to think about, let alone say out loud. “But it is a first time in a long while that someone ended falling asleep around me. I just tend to be so much fun.” Sarcasm and a bit of playfulness mingled into his words, he wore the usual easy-going smile that came almost automatically to him whenever he’d talk to anyone these days. “We’ll have to work until 11 p.m. even though our shift ends at nine. If you wanna head out earlier you can go, I have other things to do later anyway.”
