DC's Stargirl 2.10 "Summer School: Chapter Ten" has aired on the CW, and I'm here to talk about it
Start again on the events of the past with the fall of the old JSA. Looks like Pat & Sylvester may be all that's left and I'm betting this is going to be the moment when it all ends. We know they never officially disbanded but this has gotta be as close as we get. Also look at Sylvester being nice to Pat for literally the first time in the series. This might be the last time they see each other until the JSA is all killed and he's finally being nice. Jesus Christ, talk about waiting until the last moment. But you know what, an apology for the shitty treatment is way more than I ever expected from this man, and I'm proud of him for that at least.
"For once it's not on Eclipso" but it kind of is bestie, I don't know how to tell you this, but that event also comes back to Eclipso. Oh, the Shade's alive! And he's hanging out in the Whitmore house. What fun. I love it when a villain helps out the heroes. That's always fun.
I love Beth casually trying to pass off the goggles as a fashion statement. Incredible. Damn Beth, calling out her parents. No one else can hear Dr McNider, love that! Beth looks legit crazy, it's awesome. And Beth really turning her parents advice on them. I love all of Beth's development this season.
I'm sorry, the radio stations. Amazing. That is a good point from Courtney. Yolanda probably could've benefited a lot from knowing about this. Sure, she might have still quit but know we won't know. I think just knowing that this is something that happens in this life would be good.
I hate seeing Rick in holding. And he looks so broken.
Return to the JSA manor! More easter eggs for other characters? Can we see Fate's helmet again??
Okay, I'm really interested by this "Men of Tears" thing. I looked it up because it feels like a reference but I'm not really finding anything. There doesn't seem to be any organization from DC history called the Men of Tears, and I'm also not seeing anything from the real world it could be connected to. There is a DC villain known as the Weeper (who also appeared in the Flash season 4) who has used the name Trades-Man-of-Tears that may be related but I doubt it. If anybody knows anything about that, let me know, I love this kind of occult shit.
Anyway, backstory stuff for the Shade. I'm really into this backstory. It's only a slight departure from his post-Zero Hour (so pre New 52) origin (and I don't know if he really got a new origin since). I'm always into changing up origins and backstories to better fit the narrative and I think this was a solid change.
Vigilante name drop, as well as Green Arrow and Speedy. But nothing new yet.
It's nice to see Jennie again. It kind of felt like she'd have a bigger role in the show than she's had so far, so hopefully, she sticks around for the rest of the season if not into next. Hold on, Mr Bones?? Could you mean the same Mr Bones who was once the head of the D.E.O. and thought he was the brother of Beth and Kate Kane? The same Mr Bones who was tied to an organization known as Helix, a member of which being the cousin of one Yolanda Montez??
JAKEEM TURNED HIS HOUSE INTO A GINGERBREAD HOUSE???
And is anybody surprised that Shade lied? Yeah, I wanted him to help but I can't say I'm surprised. Summon Eclipso?? Oh, that's bad. That's really bad. Oh shit, Courtney's in the Shadowlands now. This just keeps getting worse.
So like I predicted, Cindy is also trapped in the Shadowlands. I'm betting a team up with her, Courtney, and Dr McNider is gonna get them out. Also a return of Dragon King, that's exciting. We'll find out what happens next week with Stargirl 2.11 "Summer School: Chapter Eleven"
