You can acknowledge that some people take what’s supposed to be a call for change, a call to action too far.
Free Palestine was supposed to be a call to action so Palestinians could live in peace. The Palestinians in Palestine have stated they just want to be able to live peacefully, this means no malice harm, or further colonization from the Israeli government and IDF/IOF.
In the west and Across the Pond, people have taken this as an excuse to be twats during protests, causing riots, disrespect and in some cases be antisemitic. This type of behavior is not nor will it ever be okay to take part in.
Nazism and Zionism became intertwined in the west, people calling for the murder and destruction of all Palestinians and People in support of Palestine simply because they’re Palestinian, and/or were taught that Muslims specifically Palestinians want them dead.
We know the free Palestine movement has never been a war on religion, Palestine and the entirety of the Middle East is filled with multiple religions that coexisted for thousands of years.
This is political whether people like that or not it simply is, and world leaders go through the UN to discuss when a country in the UN has committed acts of violence against another. There is no simple answer, Palestine and Israel mirror the Colonies and Native American Genocide exactly.
The logical answer is the UN arresting The Politicians in Israel calling for the destruction of Palestine and placing rules that are in agreement with other countries, that Israel Leaves Palestine alone and vice versa.
Calling for the destruction and ethnic cleansing of one and the exile of another is just not practical or ethical by any means.
Theres a lot going on behind the scenes politically right now, the US is not the only country in the UN that has stayed silent, the UK and the UAE have also been turning blind eyes.
That being said, The DC embassy shooting that claimed the lives of two Israeli embassy members on American soil, was Antisemitism. The shooter screaming “Free Palestine” did nothing but give the people protesting an active genocide a bad name, and an excuse for extremist to cause violence against protesters and those calling for change.
Being anti genocide (Pro Palestine) is not, Anti Jewish.
Pro Palestine has Jews all over the world including Israel protesting against the genocide.
Pro Palestine is simply being in the agreement that murdering innocent civilians and children that have nothing to do with kidnappings and politics simply because they’re Palestinians is wrong.
If you’re using the excuse that God or some higher power is telling you it’s okay to murder and eradicated innocent life simply because they’re different than you, then that’s not God you’re talking to.
If someone calling for the end of children being starved and murdered or someone wearing a Keffiyeh or hijab has you pressed to the point where you’re having a melt down, attacking them, or claiming you feel quote unsafe and quote for someone existing peacefully, than it’s time to look inward and deconstruct the false narrative you’ve been taught.
I want to state that unless you are in danger, unless someone is harassing you physically or verbally you do NOT have the right to attack them, destroy their property, film them, call the police, or report false crimes. A peaceful protest is exactly that PEACEFUL, if it turns into something else simply remove yourself from the situation.
